Fantastic hosts - great communication from the start. Very helpful, gave great advice and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Lovely room - very comfortable with little touches including toiletries, fresh milk, delicious flapjack and WiFi. Great choice of breakfasts on offer - something for everyone with lots of fresh coffee and toast etc.

Good location.... 3 min walking to railway and bus stations, very convenient to Bowness, Grasmere, Hawkshead, as well as other attractions. Room is clean and comfort. Homemade breakfast is rich and delicious. Orrest cottage is excellent value for money.
I highly appreciated David and Laura for their kindness and helpful. As they knew that we should catch the morning train, they had prepared breakfast for us half an hour earlier than usual. I really enjoyed two nights at Orrest Cottage, and .
Unbelievable value for money. Food was delicious with special homemade recipes made from local ingredients. Room was very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable - nice little touches like homemade flap jack with our welcome pack and trays for dirty shoes after hiking as well as a full range of bathroom products to use. The owners were very friendly and welcoming - could not have done more for us. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone staying in Windermere.
The breakfast was excellant, if we did both feel guilty for eating it. We were full only 2/3 of the way through, but too good to not finish. And it set us up for the rest of the day. The owners were very very helpful. A delight to deal with. Reccommendations for evening meal surperb. The location is great for walking to Windermere, Bowness and Amberside. Free parking not to far away, even with a large transit we were using.
We spent two nights at Orrest cottage. It was easy to find and parking
not a problem though in high season it may be more difficult to find a
spot close by. The room was very clean and comfortable, the home made
breakfast is huge and made from local ingredients - absolutely
wonderful. Our hosts were fabulous, full of advice and local information
and genuinely concerned about their guests comfort.
This is a great place to stay in Lake District. Felt very welcome by the friendly owners David & Laura when I arrived. The breakfast is the best I have ever had at any b&b I have stayed at. The room was clean and comfortable. The cottage is very close to the train station and the main town of Windemere, as well as the main attractions. I highly recommend Orrest Cottage.

We had a very pleasant stay at Orrest cottage,the host was very friendly and helpful.Our room was cosy and clean.Breakfast was also included in the price,we were offered to choose from a variety of breakfast choices. Location was fantastic,just a short walk from the windermere station. We highly recommend any travellers to stay with this hotel!.
The room was great, the decoration was modern and stylish and had a very good size en suite. The highest quality 3 star Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed in!

The whole experience from booking, e-mail communication with the hosts, letting ourselves in at a time convenient with us, comfortable bed, clean room and amazing breakfast made our trip fabulous. We will stay there next time too and have told our family and friends it's the place to stay.
Hotel is just 3 mins walk from the station. A very lovely hotel with only 3 rooms, which makes you feel like home. Room is very clean, comfortable bed. A TV with DVD player and many DVD to choose.

Fabulous little place, lots of character, only a few minutes walk down the hill to the lake shore at Bowness, room lovely, bed comfy, David and Laura are very attentative at breakfast, which was delicious and nothing is to much trouble, would definitely stay again.
David & Laura are a very nice couple who gave personal touches to everything. The breakfast that they prepared were so good. And the room was pleasant and cosy. Location is good as it is just a few minutes walk from the train & bus station.
The room was lovely and clean, Laura and David were more than lovely! The breakfast was amazing! So tasty! It was in a great location, 2 mins from the train station. Right across the road from the Orrest Head viewpoint which was an incredible view.
(1) we like the location--easy to find, near to amenities.
(2) we like David's attention to details, checking in advance our arrival, making us comfortable during check-in.
(3) we like the rooms, clean and nicely appointed, each with attached bath.

i only stayed one night in the cottage. David and Laura made the cottage so cozy that I felt like home. I had a most sweet sleep during my trip in UK. Must try the breakfast, extremely good! I will be back and stay longer next time.

Not always easy to park "outside" but there are LOTS of places to park a couple of minutes walk away. This is not the fault of the B&B and shouldn't deter anyone from staying here!.
Personnel to us, bed a touch soft, but won't stop us staying again. No other negatives.
