The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Bar food was good. The room had a lovely view.Excellent value for money and a nicely cooked breakfast: friendly and helpful staff. conveient position of hotel for access to many destinations......and 'dog friendly'. Relaxed atmosphere..pleasant location within the town and surprisingly quiet...pleasant views of surrounding countryside. good location rooms godd standard for the price good breakfast and staff in restuarant provided an excellent service. Single room was very roomy - nicely decorated and clean ----Breakfast was excellent-. Quaint, cosy room with lovely wooden beams. Good breakfast. Nice views, bathroom was spacious and immaculate. Convenient location. staff were helpful and friendly. convenience. Breakfast. Convenient to the place I stayed. close to town. Location to centre of town. the views. location. There was no lift. No Lift Available. No - nice hotel, pleasant rooms, good location and friendly staff. The hotel bar was not very pleasant. Would go elsewhere for a drink. breakfast staff had no experience, asked for teapot refil she asked did i want hot or cold water, egg was deep fried sausage was too fried bread over fried its a shame because the food would have been good if cooked properly we have a bistro ourselves and we serve 40 to 60 breakfasts each morning ,never had one complaint yet ! we would love to stay again but couldnt recommend it to anyone simply br. The bunk bed provided for the children was not safe, (I work in HandS), there was no ladder or guardrail to the top bunk. We split the beds to make two single beds and moved a chair for access to the fire escape. When I discussed this at reception I was told it had been picked up and was on a maintenence schedule. The family room was also next to a bar which had which had late music. The hotel was situated in the main square with 3 pubs close by, all with extended licenses. The Saturday night we stayed, there were crowds of people drinking until 2a.m and it was very, very noisy. The hotel is a listed building, so I don't think they are allowed double-glazing to help shut out noise. Perhaps if you request a room at the rear, it might be quieter, or go midweek. decor needed refreshing.......incorrect address? we do not live in Amsterdam!. Evening meal was limited, but the food was prepared ok....choice was a little basic and unimaginative..actually the full menu was not avaliable..dessert menu was also limited and uninspired....wine list lacked inquality options (partic Red wine) However Breakfast was perfectly fine and substantial. When I arrived there was no one at the reception desk and there was a que of about 3/4 people waiting to be seen to due to the delay at the desk I had to. decor a bit worn. No lift for cases to be taken uostairs to 3rd floor. A bit tired looking and needs a bit of tlc. We were at the front of the hotel and the noise when two local bars closed was unbelievable, not the quite the village retreat we had in mind. The room was small, but ok for what we paid.No one on Reception. My room was a fire exit route. There was nobody on reception when we arrived about 6pm, just a sign saying for guests to go to the restaurant. Also, the front rooms, one of which we stayed in, was very noisy due it overlooking the main square. This would probably be less of a problem if they installed double glazing in these rooms. Reception was never manned and unable to book dinner for the Saturday evening. Also the street outside was very noisy with teenagers shouting and screaming until 3am (I appreciate this was not hotel's fault!). Food was of inferior standard.Nobody at reception on arrival.Place seme deserted all night.I had stayed a number of years ago,but I,m affraid the quality had deteriorated significantly, but bar staff were quite pleasant. Say breakfast in bed and they didnt do it?
I left my scarf and did not get it back.
The bar at the side was too noisy.the 1st bedroom was dirty and the carpet was wet and there was damp on the ceiling also the room was very small only the size of single room. Despite requesting a late checkout on our internet booking request form and also in person with the receptionist, who said it was ok, a different receptionist, who was rather abrupt, rang our room at exactly 11am to inform us we needed to leave. We explained about the agreed late checkout and she rudely told us that if we didnt settle the bill before 12 noon we would be charged for another night!. Room very small. Inconsiderate, drunken guests!. Musty smell upstairs. No help was offered with luggage. There were three flights of stairs and help would have been appreciated with my suitcase. The young man who checked us in seemed in a hurry, quickly checked us in and disappeared. The room I stayed in was very hot with no apparent way to change the temperature and it was extremely noisy. It faced out into a pub right next door which was noisy until about 1.00am. cold water tap did not work in bath. The room was on the ground floor, next door to the ladies and gents toilets and on the other side was a pub playing loud karaoke until the early hours and the window looked direct onto a loud beer garden. price of the room. The food in the restuarant was rubbish, under cooked, most of the staff did not speak english, nor did it seem welsh either. food poor, noisy.
