I'm on gluten free diet - had no problems whatsoever. The chef even amended the Valentine's Day menu in the Grill Room. All the staff were exceptionally helpful. The rooftop hyropool was wonderful. - The upgrade to our room was very comfortable and appreciated. The staff were all very helpfull and friendly.

Definitely best choice for Edinburgh. Have stayed at Balmoral 3 times already, and every time was an exceptionally pleasant experience. Love the superb location, warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellently polite and helpful staff, relaxing SPA area. Strongly recommend Number one restaurant for a delicious haute cuisine dinner.. -

This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. We had a fabulous one night stay at The Chester Residence. Staff were very helpful and the suite was fantastic. All rooms were very spacious (we had the 1st floor suite) and the location was only about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket and Princes Street. Flat screen tv with multiple satellite channels. Kitchen well stocked daily with breakfast/snack items. Reception/housekeeping more than helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone and return to this hotel without a doubt.

The apartment space was luxurious, comfortable, very well thought out and utilised - with modern open-plan living in mind, balcony with fold back door to seamlessly bring the outside space in, serviced to a high standard daily; friendly and very helpful staff. Very central location at the 'Lawnmarket' on the 'Royal Mile' in the Old Town, in the shadow of the castle itself - great for sight- seeing most within a very short walking distance and only a short bus ride to others.

Very clean, very smart and I would thoroughly recommend. I travelled with my two boys (11 and 12) for the Open at Muirfield and was great for access to Edinburgh Waverley whilst being right next to Calton Hill and 15 mins from Arthur's Seat (bottom not top) for the great views of Edinburgh. -

I`m an Architect, specialized in hotels, been in 29 counties and hundreds of hotels, but haven't seen such amazing design, decor and luxury of fine details in each and every corner of this unique hotel. It`s beyond imagination. Staff were more than excellent. Food was great.

Apartment decor and furnishings were beautiful, clean, comfortable and felt like a home from home. Location was perfect, walking distance to major shopping precinct, bars restaurants, art galleries and train station. Staff were very polite and helpful. -
