this hotel is an absolute delight, a real hidden gem in the Gloucestershire countryside. Our room was probably one of the more 'ordinary' ones, but having said that we could not have asked for more. Everything that I could think of that would make a stay in a hotel comfortable, the staff had thought of first. We chose Thistle Cheltenham because a few weeks earlier we had stayed in The Atlantic Tower - Thistle in Liverpool and enjoyed our stay so much we looked for the Thistle name for our visit to Cheltenham. Very friendly and warm welcome. Room was cosy, warm, well appointed and very clean, the fixtures and fittings were stylish and overall very homely. The village of Bourton on the water is only a 10 minute walk so it is well situated to amenities nearby. Food was excellent and presented beautifully. The atmosphere in the pub was very good and very friendly. I would defiantly recommend this pub as a good place to stay
