Enjoyed our stay & breakfast in a quaint, little Scottish country pub, even better than it was the local annual show day ! Staff helpful & obliging. Room warm & comfy. Top marks for a nice stay. Would certainly recommend.
We stayed for three nights, staff made us very welcome, even when England beat Scotland at football. Moffat is a lovely town with great countryside and not far from Glasgow or Edinburgh.wszystkie opinie »
The hotel was in a good location. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food for our evening meal was plentiful and excellent as was the cooked breakfast.
We enjoyed the hot traditional breakfasts freshly but quickly cooked each morning. The evening meals were very good and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Good value for money in a small place as we were just passing through.
Great, friendly staff. Consistent hearty breakfasts. Comfortable beds, good really ale, and a lively bar. also Moffat Malt!.

The value for money.
friendly staff.
Location.
Staff - so ultra helpful and pro-active, especially Angela!
Breakfast - nothing about it was 'healthy' it was SCRUMPTIOUS, coulda done with some black pudding but, not because it wasn't enough but that its delicious and traditionally found on a Full 'Scottish Breakfast!'
Plug points actually in the right place for the mirror - perfect!
Bed Linen and towels fresh and clean.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices and quality for food were excellent. No hassle with checking in and checking out which was good. Located in brilliant spot. All in all a fairly good visit.
Welcome really friendly .food well prepared and presented . The position could not be bettered for exploring Moffat.
Sandwiches at the bar. Proximity of hotel to wedding reception. Beer garden. Breakfast although coffee was poor.
Basic and wellcoming. Staff couldn't be nicer and eager to please. Lively bar with friendly locals.
food was excellent on the second morning I had to ask for a small breakfast my wife just had toast.
Food and staff superb, very friendly, the Chef went out of his way to look after us.
Convenient food available was good and provided very good value.
Breakfast and the food and the staff were great.
The attentive staff and the town of Moffat.
Room very clean and comfortable.
food good and staff helpful.
Nothing at all to make a comment about.
The Indian restaurant in town, we would not recommend.
No negative comments.
The carpets are due for a change upstairs and spoil what is a lovely hotel. We realise the hotel has undergone some changes but hope this is constructive criticism. The evening menu is varied and just what you want unfortunately 2 nights running no salmon or lasagne as they were waiting for a delivery - not a good idea.
Other people banging their doors at night.
I would not recommend the Stag Hotel to people with disabilities.Very steep and winding stair, no lift. However staff did help me with my luggage.
nothing.
Shower in bathroom could be more powerful. Decor a little bit dated.
Accommodation was a little cramped but only to be expected from a small pub/hotel.
Smallish shower room.
There were no bad points to staying at this hotel.
Could have been a chair/s in the annex.
Staff barely spoke to me when I checked in, and the person serving breakfast and covering checkout in the morning was too busy.
no wi-fi.
The cooking of the breakfast seemed to have been rushed and was small.
Moffat road ??? To long.
Car parking was not the best. You have to leave your car parked next to the main bar entrance.
Nothing.
nothing.
Some areas in need of decorating.
nill.
Shower room was a bit small.
the 10.oclock check out.
cold bathroom.
The shower in the room.
Can't think of anything.
Room 4 - no hot water/tap not working.
10 am check out a little brutal.
Some aspects needing some TLC ie; plumbing; wonkey/loose shower fittings.
Place needs a real re vamp and bringing up to date. Rooms were clean and tidy, but only had tv. No radio or wake up alarm facility. Room itself was quite small considering it was a double. I'd have said more like a single with a double bed in it. Price for what we got was to much. I'd have said more like £50 per room rather than the £62 we were charged.
Bedroom a little tired and more attention to replacement of light bulbs please.
Room 7. One of the mattresses was well by its best, my wife could not get agood nights sleep for it. Towel rail in room coming away from the wall. Toilet door could not be opened from inside. Shower cubicle on the small side for someone of my size ie 17 stones. Stairs a bit tricky.
forgot to mention to the hotel or yourselves that we were partially disabled .( that should be a question that you ask )then we might not have been put in a 2nd floor attic room 3 flights of stairs one a continuous winder.
Our room,no 7 in the attic ! Mega creaky doors to bedroom and en-suite,which was tiny but functional.Carpet very grubby and in need of a revamp.
Cant comment on other rooms because I didn't see any of them.
Very raucous at weekend,in the evenings, seems to be the place for the local youths etc to hang out, some choice language flying about due to Pool Table in room adjoining the Bar.
Missed breakfast because 8 o'clock start was too late for us travelling on.
Bed was not comfortable and it was quite noisy.
Toilet and shower room was grotty and the fact you had to leave the toilet room to wash your hands.
the shower did not work.
