The English country inn ambiance, the friendly informality, the food, the bedrooms, being dog friendly, the view over the valley from the garden, the terrace restaurant and the location in the heart of East Sussex.

I loved the room, it wasn't big in size but was lovely and comfortable. Wonderful bed, quilt and pillows.
Wonderful few days spent in a very special place. Exceptional food (good vegetarian choice) and room.
The lovely big log fire, friendly staff and excellent food. Very good atmosphere with the locals.
Lovely authentic old inn. Good food, real ale, excellent wines and log fires.
Delicious food, comfy beds. Nice relaxed country pub atmosphere.
Very nice pub with good restaurant and friendly staff.
There wasn't anything to not like.
A little downfall is the poor reception of wifi (if any) in the pub and no reception at all in in the bedroom.
We had a bit trouble to find the inn because the car navi didn't recognize the place.
The room, although charming was quite small really, although the view was superb, and the sheets were so smooth, and the towels were soft.
