Staff were so welcoming and friendly - couldn't do enough for you. Great idea with the parking permit offered. We checked in and our bags were taken to our rooms while we parked the car and took the short walk back. Fantastic location - literally a stones throw from the beautiful town. Thoroughly enjoyable stay - quaint old building - would definitely stay again. Its all about location, location, location. Walk to pedestrian area (High Street) at end of the street. Beautifully restored Historical inn. Helpful hostess. Best wifi from room. Good deal on parking, less than 1/2 mile away. Check in first, unload suitcases and hostess will give you specific parking permit to display and location. Easy.
wszystkie opinie » I liked everything really. It was enjoyable to stay there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a very sound, comfortable night's sleep each night I was there. I greatly appreciated being able to leave my luggage there after I checked out until it was more convenient to collect it in the late afternoon. Greyfriars lodge is a very old building and therefore a little screw whiff but that is part of its authenticity. The rooms were clean and staff very helpful. Great location but note the parking is off site in municipal car parks. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They were keen to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was comfortable and the facilities were very clean. I would 100% recommend staying here!. We would like to thank all the staff at Greyfriars for making our stay as comfortable as possible. Staff that was always at our service with a warm smile. Thumbs up to all. Will definately recommend this hotel. Very friendly staff and a real family run feel. Made very welcome and would return. It's almost churlish to pick on the breakfast as I certainly did not go hungry and everything was served nicely. It's just that my personal preference when on holiday is for an English breakfast! This comment would not discourage me from booking there again. The showers in both rooms were not fit for purpose. This was a real problem with six of us and it would put me off returning. No complaints. We came during a heat wave and the room got hot. Our fans did cool everything down at night. The staff did supply two fans. The tiny sink in the bathroom. I would stay here if I visited Canterbury again. Very hot rooms & noisy with the window open but we knew it would be staying in the centre of the city during a heat wave, so not really a negative!. Parking a several-minute walk away. Streets in central Canterbury are the narrowest we encountered throughout uk - very challenging to drive with lots of roadway-sharing and driving on the pavement (sidewalks)! Parking and walking is the way to go. Nothing of significance. Some noise but it's a city centre and listed buildings won't have full double glazing. Really at their price and criticism seems churlish. If you're a very light sleeper then this is probably not for you - walls are thin. However, with ear plugs all was well. The only problem might be the stairs if you as it is an old building , but I wiuld advise people if older to ask for a downstairs room. Difficult to find hotel down narrow alleys on a dead end in the center old part of town. Understandably, parking can't be nearby and is instead in a public lot on edge of town. The breakfast, it would be nice to have a choice of a cooked breakfast. The ensuite could do with updating. not a thing - all great. Quite basic facilities - rooms small. Bathroom too small for a towel rail and noisy plumbing. The showers were clean but tiny. No hot water. Early morning deliveries to hotel across the road. It was a little pricey for what you got. We could only have the family room and have paid similar prices in London for much better accommodation. However, I would recommend this place. noise on the street. No hot water for shower/bath in the morning, fittings sometimes a bit tatty. You have to park the car a 7 to 8 minutes walk away. One is never sure how secure cars are left overnight in a public car park. furniture a bit worn and marked nowhere to sit ouside. wasnt very much room to move around but that cant be helped considering it wasnt designed for a b+b. Parking was not possible just at 5 min. walk. I think someone may get the wrong key, and continuing knocking and tries to get inside to my room. It was scared me. Washing basin is too small, making it difficult to wash without spilling water on the floor. Water pump is noisy after flushing toilet. No air condition. The Bathroom was a little too small. the breakfast a full english would of been great. No hand rail on stairs in part. Electrics very poor state in bedroom. Mould on shower door frame. Shower head hardly allowing water through. Cobwebs in ward robes. Bed at angle in room, so little room on one side. Toilet a saniflo, so very noisy at times. Breakfast like being in a hostel but one was paying for better atmosphere. Parking a long way off and we had a Blue Badge.
