The suite is a small apartment with a small kitchen opened on the living room.
Much better than a classic hotel room if you intend to spend time in your room.
Location is right on Taksim place, in front of Gezi park and Divan hotel. The downside is that it is a bit noisy with ongoing roadworks and traffic at this time. -

Just back from Istanbul, where were staying in Mataraci Konak with friends for 4 days. The location is just fabulous, close to all major sites.
Little Haya Sofia is next to the hotel and was nice surprise for us.
Lots of restaurants and cafes around, but the hotel is staying on small quite street, so this doesn’t bother you at all.
Hotel is a nice place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff.

I had a delightful surprise staying at the Taksim Star; very impressed by the room, soft yet crisp sheets; the bathroom was really clean, too!! The rooms were comfortable and the AC worked great! It's also in a great location - just a short walk from Taksim Square. The best part of the hotel was the staff - they literally ran through tear gas with us to help us make our way to a shuttle for an early morning flight. Beyond these mild heroics, they also were very valuable in helping us navigate the city, make plans, and were responsive to any room-related requests we had.
