Hotel J in Negombo is a great place to arrive or depart Sri Lanka from, the proximity to the airport is great. The pools very good and the beach at the right time of year would be great. A basic but comfortable hotel that served our purposes very well. -

But what really impressed us was -
Loved our stay here. The pool is clean. The bar has cold beer and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The buffet breakfast is great. The staff were friendly and helpful.The rooms good, but we had little hot water if any some days. It is easy to get about Negombo with the many tuk tuks. Some good restaurants close by. I would recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel. We stayed for 4 nights. When we arrived the swimming pool had maintenance and we were not allowed to swim next 2 days. We arrived here in the evening after a tiring journey so the comfy beds were really appreciated. The room had a patio from which you could see and hear the sea, it's a beautiful view. The food was excellent and good value and the staff are really friendly and very helpful. We were here for 5 days sunbathing, reading books and swimming in the pool. I'd definitely stay here again and use it as a base for going further afield.

It was my second time staying here and that says it all that I returned. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine and all and all it is value for money. The location is close to shops and restaurants and it is also close to the beach not to mention only about twenty minutes from the airport. -
