  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants.   The location was fantastic. The rooms were very clean and spacious. - Even though I was warned of possible rennovation disturbance I heard/saw nothing! But then again you don't really expect to when you're only using the hotel as a place to rest your head after spending all day exploring the city.   We loved our stay at this Hotel Palace! Perfect, professional and very polite and helping staff. We had a wonderful room with a balcony and good view (standard).   Very quiet room. Great value for money. Good design. A small suite with separate bedroom for 100$ per day! Easy access to metro line 4 (Bogatell) or Line 1 (Marina). Not far from the beaches. Mar Bella is only two stops (Poblenou) and a 10 minute walk. Direct by metro to old Barcelona in only a few stops (Jaume I). Pass is good for the day. - This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and Las Rambles. We upgraded to a superior room and it had a huge bed with enough space and also a balcony / patio, we also got spa access included for upgrading. The staff were very helpful and you can help yourself to coffees and pastries in the afternoon free of charge which is a nice little extra. We will definitely be visiting this hotel again as it was great.
