The staff were great, just couldn't do enough for you and the hotel
itself is a great mix of the old original house and newly built annex
with lots of facilities, including a bar, jaccuzzi (if the weather
allows), good size pool etc.Breakfast is also of a high standard with an
excellent continental selection as well as choice of hot options. The
breakfast room is a lovely location with comfortable chairs and soothing
background music being played, all getting the day off to a great start.

The hotel and staff extremely welcoming and friendly. The room exceeded my expectation and would happily recommend it to anyone going to Cape Town. Due to the off season period it was very quite. A bit artificial but a beautiful place to be. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Moyo and the Jonkershuis restaurant are both advisable as well. - The relaxing atmosphere, the decor in the lounges and the friendliness of the staff.

We had a fantastic stay at Basse Provence. The location is beautiful, surrounded by the winelands and the mountains and the accommodation itself was wonderful. Our room was spacious and under the thatched roof and the staff were very helpful. This was our favourite place to stay whilst we were in South Africa and we would thoroughly recommend it!

We were overnighting prior to a long flight the next day to Dubai/Kabul. This could not have been a nicer stay. Car parked, check in seamless, room very nice. Our view was an ocean view which was great. The convenience to the waterfront activities and shopping was excellent. Late night coffee and cake in front of the fireplace was superb. The breakfast buffet was possibly the best we have had, just fabulous. Staff were all on their game, excellent service.

The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful, always smiling, and solicitous without being in your face. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choices and value for money; use of the business centre at no extra cost was a godsend - see wi-fi
The entrance/lobby very spacious and felt homely. I would definitely stay at the Portswood again
