Loved the central location. It was a 10 min walk from the Bugis MRT and closer to bus stops.
Plenty of restaurants down Arab Street and adjoining streets and hence one has a good choice of reasonably priced meals. Many curious shops down Arab Street and adjoining Haji Lane to sate one's appetite.
Night life was awesome - all the restaurants are open till the whee hours because of which your never short of dinner whatever time you get back. The people down the street were extremely friendly, w. wszystkie opinie »
hi all. I really just can recommend the shophouse and would always come back there if I will be in Singapore again. It is central in a nice district with a lot of restaurants and cafes. It has on every level free wifi, a awesome terrace, two Mac pcs and two windows (free) and a lot of lovely details. Great service what helped me come around and getting trips cheaper. So enaugh commercial..just test it!! Best regards and thanks again for everything guys. Ur cool! xxx.
In the middle of the Arab quarter (which is the best part of Singapore
in my opinion), with great staff, clean dorms, lockers, and all day
breakfast (in a common kitchen with bread, spreads, coffee and tea) to
be consumed on the rooftoop terrace, it's just amazing. Lounge with
movies and pc to browse, a guitar and a small guest library. Top notch,
and all for just 15 s$!!!!.
Staff are so accommodating especially those two ladies(Sophie Elisyah and her Mom). They are so nice and friendly. I had a great time staying in the hostel. Good ambiance and you can really feel the the fresh air when you stay in their rooftop. It feels so relaxing. I will surely recommend this place to my friends. Good Job Shophouse. Keep it up!.
It is amazing how the hostel is designed in a shop lot! With all the facilities like hair dryers, iron, 3showers/toilet and the dormitories in one floor. Yet, it doesn't feel that cram.
The wifi is available at each floor and it has strong signals.
The location is also very good which is at Arab street .. And just 10 mins walk to bugis station.
The location is just perfect. We walked to anything we needed and the
mrt station is 5 minutes’ walk. The facility is clean and well
maintained. The service was very good. They’re really friendly and
helpful. I'll definitely be back if I'm backpacking again in
Singapore.
Perfect for young travelers like myself. Ideal place if you want to chill with new people. The roof is fun. Amazing staff. The owners and the staff understand travelers. Amazing location, 2 lines of the MRT within 10 minutes of walking. Nicoll Highway and Bugis.
i really enjoyed staying at the shophouse social hostel. Its a great place to meet people everyone was very friendly and nice. The location was great and free breakfast all day was so convienient if you needed a snack . Highly recommend it to backpackers :).
I love stayed in Shophouse hostel. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean. As Muslims, stay in arab street is the right choice because it is close to the Sultan mosque. It's very easy to find delicious halal food.
I was checkin so late arround 1am, and they facilitated me with self check in, keys, and guideline, and everything, sleep first, and do checkin the day after.
The cafe downstair is perfect. And the rooftop was excelent.
Great location, helpful staff and a fun cafe downstairs and an open
hangout space on top make this my favourite place in Singapore. They
have the most inexpensive laundary rates too.
The location was really strategic and the MRT station was only a few minutes walk away. The hostel's hygiene was also favorable and the lockers were big enough to fit my suitcase.
so comfy! i feel like at home! they have great rooftop, PlayStasion3, iMac, UNO STACKO for enjoying our nights! very close with 7-11, make us easy if we need something.
WiFi was everywhere.. Nice place to stay at.. Came with very little expectations but got more than what i needed..good thingabout this place is its recreational room..
friendly staffs (especially a short hair woman), convenient location, near local restaurant.
Very nice staff, helpful and everything and the rooftop-terrace is a
good place to hang out.
I like everything about this hotel including the location and the staffs are nice.
The staff were very helpful, good wifi, location was fairly close to the MRT.
It was good. Only real complaint is that the wi-fi was still not working...
Clean, comfort..nearby halal food shop..near MRT
Modern concept.
Roof top lounge is the best & very friendly staff.
all day breakfast
fast internet
roof top common room.
I love the people treat us like a good person.
Bed, drap, staff, pillow, terrace, kitchen.
Very nice and wonderful place.
great staff, great location.
Location,breakfast,roof,.
hospitality of the staff.
friendly staff.
terrace Launge.
the rooftop!!.
Location is the best choice of this hostel, when u shop around bugis, and come home a few blocks away, its heaven.beds are comfortable and free flowing breakfast all day.
the staff was really nice n friendly..love the environment of ur coffee shop.. n its just nearby to mrt station :).
- Great Staff
- Close to MRT
- Fun Entertainment Room
- Appreciated the free breakfast coffee and toast.
loving the well managed social activities for the guest, this time we have a rooftop movie night!.
Great social area, got open air common room and rooftop area too.
Staff very friendly and nice rooms.
Location and friendly staffs.
Location is very good, the Arab street is very exotic and you can find a good restaurant or bar easily around the hostel.
The rooms did not have natural ventilation and this made it a bit musty. Therefore we had to keep our doors open during the day to get in some fresh air.
Breakfast was just cereal and toast/butter/jam - but you can't complain about that for the price of accommodation given the location.
The room is always dark because the windows are closed and didn't want to switch on the lights m afraid to disturb anyone sleeping. but it doesn't really bother me.
Not much choice for breakfast . Basically just toast and cereals,so not an issue if u r not so picky on good.
The dormitory room for 12 ppl is a bit too small. The breakfast is very
basic: cereal, bread, milk, coffee, nutella and peanut butter. No orange
juice, no brown bread, no fruits, etc.
Genuinely found no negatives in my first stay!.
bedroom is rather narrow, so it's rather difficult if you want to move. A bit far from the mrt. Not suitable for older people because they have to climb stairs to reach the bedroom and breakfast room. But other than that, everything is good.
Bathroom was really just okay on the 4th floor. Need some improvement.
The room I was staying in was really damp and smelled moldy (eww). I also didn't like it that the reception counter was always empty and I had to go to the cafe's cashier to ask for the receptionist.
a lil bit far from MRT bugis but great location.
Me being a solo traveler, i wasn't expecting much.. Everything was good and nice and my stay in Singapore was smooth..
The bathrooms.
Although the staff were helpful they weren't experienced travelers (they were locals) so they didn't necessarily know about the attractions.
No wi-fi, not even internet access on the computers on the top floor.
Toilet too small, one of the toilet pipe nor function.
Door room too noisy when people come in/out.
Other guest in the same room do not show respect when they come in at 1200am ie speak loud and do not switch off the light.
Bathroom/toilet need too be clean other than that all good.
loudness
showers/toilets.
nothing.
the wall separating the next door dorm a little too thin...but tolerable.
there is no elevator.
toilet not so clean.
- They need to post "Rules" for the dorms, out of the 4 nights we stayed we did not get one good solid nights sleep as other guests continued to talk at full volume, whistle, turn on the lights, and have a general disregard for other guests between 2:30am - 5:30am (though asked repeatedly to stop); other hostels solve this by "Quiet Time" in sleeping areas.
- Bathroom areas are not properly drained so you find yourself in standing water anytime you want to use the restroom.
Some guest just dont have manners, it's the consequences staying in a budget/backpacker hostel.
Toilets a bit small and unclean.
Dirty toilets.
The long stay guests made the room really messy, untidy and other guests dont have enough space to put their luggages.
