We've spent about 8 weeks in St. Petersburg over the past 5 years as
students, and our dorms were located in old Soviet apartment blocks; so
this hotel was a welcomed change for our short visit back to Peter!! The
hotel was very clean, which surprised me as most of St. Petersburg is on

A very correct hotel, with extremely large bar/ dining room complex
and a pub open late. Excellent food in that pub (which is a rare thing
to find in that town). Excellent coffee, and plenty of space to
comfortably read a paper. Location is excellent - not right at the
center with all its tourist traps but a little kickback at calm
Vasilevsky Island. A very good place on the whole although on the
expensive side.

Response staff - When we reported AC problems someone arrived right away, checked the settings, and we received a call offering to relocate us to a room with working AC. Also used the concierge services and it worked well.

Fairly comparable with western business hotels. Good location next to
underground station. We were given a junior suite by price of standard
twin due to booking situation and arrival at 19:30 so can't review
normal room but suite was excellent. Reception staff was really helpful

The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. My single room was smallish but not at all claustrophobic. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedclothes. The bathroom was spacious, of gleaming marble and like the room and all the spaces I saw, really clean and fresh. The toiletries were of good quality, too. Hotel is excellent value for money. I had a business room with free wifi, breakfast included (which was very good) and free access to the Spa and gym which is also excellent. the hotel has a free shuttle to and from the airport and the city and the metro station is only a short walk away with a direct line to the centre. my room was excellent and

Good lication - it is far from city center but close to Pulkovo airport, so if you are going to leave for airport in the morning you can avoid traffic jam and predict time to get the airport. Metro station is near the hotel. Rooms are clean and recently renovated. The good beer reastaurant is located in the hotel building and work till 23h. The 24h bar is available in lobby with good choice of drinks and reasonable prices, but no snacks available.

Good location - close to the river, especially convenient to watch Liteyny bridge raise (it is 1 min walk). Please note that rooms overlooking Liteyny prospekt have the best view, but are noisy. The hotel is a splendid old house in a very quiet area. Our room was very large and comfortable.
The buffet breakfast (included) was excellent as was the restaurant in the evenings.
However, the best feature of the hotel was the staff - friendly, helpful, and with fluent English. My wife found the bed a little too soft for her back - housekeeping quickly set up a mattress on the floor which solved the problem.
In short - highly recommended.
