It is an excellent boutique hotel in a very good location. Everything is close- the Hermitage, Nevsky prospect, the Dome etc. Staff is very friendly, extremely helpful and polite. I'd like to commend Vasili,- an exceptionally professional receptionist. The hotel is full of character, decorated with taste which becomes the old building in the grand part of St. Petersburg. Very clean, has around the clock self-service stand of coffee and tea in the lobby, good internet connection.

The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. My single room was smallish but not at all claustrophobic. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedclothes. This is a really nice micro-hotel. Recently renovated and renovated well. Rooms like Nevsky Palace but 1/3rd the price! The room was nice, clean, LCD TV with sat. Bathroom was new, had quality European toiletries in the bathroom, water in the shower was pure and clean. Excellent breakfast included.

metro station “Gorkovskaya” is about 10 min. On foot. Therefore it is
better to use the bridges and be in the center… So the location is

A very correct hotel, with extremely large bar/ dining room complex
and a pub open late. Excellent food in that pub (which is a rare thing
to find in that town). Excellent coffee, and plenty of space to
comfortably read a paper. Location is excellent - not right at the
center with all its tourist traps but a little kickback at calm
Vasilevsky Island. A very good place on the whole although on the
expensive side.

The hotel is a splendid old house in a very quiet area. Our room was very large and comfortable.
The buffet breakfast (included) was excellent as was the restaurant in the evenings.
However, the best feature of the hotel was the staff - friendly, helpful, and with fluent English. My wife found the bed a little too soft for her back - housekeeping quickly set up a mattress on the floor which solved the problem.
In short - highly recommended.
