In the morning, a sumptuous breakfast will be served (inclusive of the room rate). The hotel does not offer a la carte meals, although it is possible to serve a lunch or dinner (for groups only, reservations must be made in advance). There is a cosy bar and a nice terrace.

The restaurant is accessible for disabled guests .The bar is open from 11:00 - 23:00. Lunch and dinner for groups (who made a reservation in advance) will be served at requested times between 12 midday - 20:00.

Hotel Meerzigt is situated in a beautiful location, directly near the water and the centre of the rural village of Eastermar. The hotel has a spacious private parking and is a perfect start for hiking and biking, as well as sailing, rowing or canoeing.

The hotel is located at the small harbour just between the 2 lakes of Bergumermeer and De Leyen, both just 1 km from the hotel.

Information about the area

Hotel Meerzigt lies in between the nature reserve called 'De Leyen' and the 'Bergumermeer', where you can surf, sail, canoe or swim. It is possible to take a boat trip with a guide, rent a boat or even a canoe.

The historical cities of Dokkum, Leeuwarden, Grouw and the De Alde Feanen nature reserve near Eernevoude are all situated in this lake district.

Eastermar is also a good place to stay on the way to one of the Frisian Islands of Ameland or Schiermonnikoog.
