Excellent location for relax. If you got own car you can enjoy Essauouira and the beach and will rest nicely by pool with quiet atmosphere.

This place was very pretty. More like a little community of villas than a hotel right up a long dirt track. The pool was very nice on a hot day and they even had a small gym if you were feeling keen. The food was good and they are more than happy to bring it to you where ever you want (although like most places in Morocco the service is very relaxed and so breakfast or an impromptu meal may take over an hour to get moving so prepare for this if you have things planned for the day). I would recommend this place if you want to get away from it all for a few days with a bit of small explorations into town during the day. Not so much if you want to explore essaouira more deeply and have a night out there.
It's far away from the centre of town. They do have a shuttle however not if you want to come back late from town ( it only goes at certain times). It was a bit of an adventure getting home one night as our taxi got a bit lost going down the dirt track.
Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri is a beautiful resort just outside of Essaouira. The cottages are modern, clean, spacious and (some) have an astonishing view. The moment you enter the gate of the resort you ‘feel’ the relaxed atmosphere; nice maintained gardens between the cottages, friendly staff (always willing to help) and a nice pool where you can enjoy the sun. The manager really understands the details that make sleeping in Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri an experience: nice leaves on your bed when you arrive, fresh orange juice for breakfast, quality coffee and always clean towels available on the sunbed next to the pool. This is not the standard service in Morocco. Go visit this place!
The first time it’s indeed hard to find. And the fact that have you to reserve your dinner before 13.00. Since we arrived our first day at 16.00 (after 5 hours of driving), we couldn’t eat in the restaurant and we ‘forced’ to drive to Essaouira.

The staff were very friendly (and honest as they came to our appartment with my wifes bag that she had left at the restaurant with all our money and cards! The accommodation is lovely and the pool superb.
It is about 15km from the town, and you are dependent on transport offered by the hotel. However, they were more than accomodating and so the transport issue was no real problem and should not put anyone off.

This hotel, douar, is situated 12 Kms from Essaouira not in the Medina as google maps indicate. There are beautiful grounds, a huge pool and five smaller pools attached to different apartments. We had a one bedroom apartment which contained a kitchenette, meals area with lounge, T V and plenty of space for clothes and bags. There was a large terrace with table and chairs. It was quiet and very relaxing away from the bustle of the fish market and Medina and the beach. The manager and other staff couldn't be more helpful and everyone was friendly. Staff speak English. The closest supermarket, with absolutely everything one could need is in Essaouira. Maps were printed out for us by the manager and it was easy to get to as was the Medina and beach. We had a wonderful stay. The best accommodation we had in our trip to Morocco.
Independent travellers may find it difficult to locate. It is on the road from Marrakesh to Essaouira and is signposted Residence Hoteliere, the words Douar Souiri not being mentioned. The staff rescued us from Essaouria when we were unable to find the hotel and we followed them to the place.
Many thanks to all the helpful and friendly staff (especially to Red, le patron de village ). This is a great place to relax and doing nothing. Hotelservice is provided, cleaning ladies, own kitchen, fitness, … And you can hire a villa with private swimming pool! You just have to have this!
The distance between the villa and the city centre of Essauoira (+/- 15 minutes driving). This is not like mentioned on the map of letsbookhotel.com. There is a shuttle service provide from Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri but you have to plan your trips. Great thanks for the flexibility of Red's Team!
The staff were the friendliest most helpful people, the food was delicous and authentic, space big enough inside the house as well as around the pool, and obviously the owners highest priority was to make their guests feel at home. We will most definitly return.
It is quite far out of the city but the shuttle bus is free and always there on hand as times are very movable
Helpful owner and very pleasant staff. Great pool, relaxing atmosphere, tasty food. Private garden seating, safe parking. Good place to rest and visit Essaouira (by own car).
Ground floor appartment was a little dark, the one on the first floor with the terrace would be probably lighter. Access road could be better. But one most important thing: The map on letsbookhotel.com is absolutely wrong, hotel is not in the town, the owner should correct this. Ask them for GPS coordinates if you want to find it without stress.
Great staff - extremely helpful and friendly without being effusive. very relaxing environment - lovely gardens and great pool. Perfect antidote to hustle and bustle of Marrakesh
The map on letsbookhotel.com was totally misleading as it shows the hotel in the centre of the medina, whereas it is 12 k out of town.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location, village and accommodation are simply amazing. The hotel village is a ten minute drive to down town essouira, but calm and quiet. Great place for family vacation. Thanks Radouane!
Great place with beautiful apartments. The apartment was cleaned every day.
It is indeed very hard to find. It is on the way from Marrakech to Essaouria (the road R207). It is 5 kilometers after the village Ounara. If you drive from Marrakech to Essauouria it's on your left hand. You will see a big blue sign with 'Residence Hoteliere'. You can't get to the other side of the road there so you have to drive a little bit further and take a U turn back. The road to the residence is very bumpy.
