  Having stayed at the Family Inn Saiko for almost a week I have to say that the whole experience has been a truly pleasant one! In fact, I would go even so far as saying that it was one of the most pleasant experiences in a few years worth of travelling. The security couldn't be any better with regards to the doors to the individual rooms as well as with regards to t - I loved how friendly and helpful the hotel staff was and how willing they were to assist me in my travels as well as answer my questions and concerns. The room was VERY clean and comfortable and it was a great Japanese cultural experience. It was conveniently located close to 3 subway stops, including the Ikebukuro station. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and if I am ever in Tokyo again, I will be staying here again! I have already recommended the Family Inn Saiko to friends!

  I've been staying at ryokan Sansuiso 2-3 times a year for the past 15 years. The value for the price is great. Don't expect the Ritz here, this is a small traditional style Japanese inn, the tatami mat rooms are small with fouton for sleeping. In the past few years they have upgraded to non-pay, flat screen TV's and free WiFi.   We had a perfectly adequate western room with the usual/necessary functions, but be warned - it was a typical Japanese size, i.e. small and cramped. You couldn't fit in more than 2 normal sized suitcases and even that would be pushing it (we had 1 and a couple of smaller hand baggage bags). But the bed (queen size double) was VERY comfortable - the best in our 4 week stay in Japan. Also it was very conven - I really liked the location - it's very close to the park and the subway station. Particularly coming from Narita, the access is quite convenient and they have very good instructions on how to find the hotel. I'd say the rooms were a good value. Yes, they are small - but that's pretty standard for Tokyo or any large city.
