My partner and i stayed at City Nutz in 2011 and loved the room we got and the hospitality we received, the drink machine which offers three free drinks was just a bonus! (the rooms are not massive but nothing in Tokyo will be and it was perfect for two)

We loved the location and being just 2 short blocks from the subway station in the heart of Tokyo. It was very convenient and I would stay there again just because I know what I'm getting. It's definitely not the fanciest of places...but it was clean, had decent amenities, and worked for what we needed. Coffee maker, small fridge, interesting music system, tv. Very small rooms, not alot of space for your luggage, but it's Tokyo and you you don't get a lot of space for this price.

Everything! This is my first (and only) stay in "riokan", so I can not compare it with other "riokans", but I really enjoyed "riokan experience" in Annex Katsutaro. Lovely, clean small hotel, with large, bright rooms by Japanese standard. The staff is very helpful and they speak good English. It is located in a nice, quiet environment close to shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk from the train station. The Nippori station is on the main "circle" line which takes you to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and other places of interest without the need to change the trains. Very conveniently located to catch the skyliner to the Narita airport. I was afraid that it would be very noisy due to the proximity to the train station but it was not bad at all (room facing the other direction). The onsen is very nice, in contrast to some other places where I have stayed, you can use it in the evening and in the morning. -

The neighborhood is quiet, but lots of small restaurants and konbini near by.

Everything was wonderful. The staff were really friendly, and the location was great!
There is a shuttle bus running from 6pm to 11pm from Akihabara Station straight to the hotel - wonderful if you're out shopping and you don't want to walk back to the hotel or take a taxi. -

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they all spoke English. This was our first stop in Japan, and it was very easy to find and get to (there was a shuttle from the airport), and a great introduction to the country. The rooms are small, but comfortable, and the location is not particularly scenic but is very convenient to the airport

All the staff were extremely helpful, very polite and very friendly. The
hotel has a free shuttle bus to/from Haneda airport and was only a
10 minute bus ride. The room was very clean, compact but comfortable
with it's own toilet/shower cubicle, it also had a kettle for

The staffs are really friendly. We stayed there on the first day upon arrival to Tokyo. Then on the last day before we head back to home there are couple of hours when we want to do a short tour in Shibuya. Just tried our luck to see whether we can leave the luggage and yeap... the staff are willing to help although we did not stay there during that day....impressive.
