This was my second time staying in Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, but my first time staying in the dorm. It's a great hotel, very clean, free wifi and they have converters at the front desk for your electronics. It's really close to Ikebukuro station and there's a lot of good restaurants around and staff available 24 hours a day.

Lovely, clean small hotel, with large, bright rooms by Japanese standard. The staff is very helpful and they speak good English. It is located in a nice, quiet environment close to shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk from the train station. Hot bath 300 yen per hour. English speaking staff, appeared genuinely concerned when i told them I smelled weed smoke in the toilet, 10 miniute walk to Minami Senju Station (7 min ride to Ueno station from there). Good if you're coming in from Narita by Keisei Skyliner. Clean rooms. Comfortable Japanese style. Showers nice and easy to get to the right temperature. Nice lounge and kitchen facilities. Side door with keypad and coded lockers for 24 hour access.

Very conveniently located to catch the skyliner to the Narita airport. I was afraid that it would be very noisy due to the proximity to the train station but it was not bad at all (room facing the other direction). The onsen is very nice, in contrast to some other places where I have stayed, you can use it in the evening and in the morning. -
