The apartment was in a good location, only being about 500 meters to the grand canal at the San Silvestro stop in S. Polo. It was situated between Campo Aponal and a grocery store at the other end of the alley. It was neat and clean with air conditioning that worked great. It was had ample supplies for the kitchen and bathroom. I highly recommend staying there.

Very good idea for staying in Venice. You chose an apartment, you notify them of your arrival by email, arrange a meeting point, the representative meets up with you (handy to have a phone with you just in case) he (in this case a born-and-bred Venetian) meets you right on time, walks you down several narrow streets, gives you good info on the way, takes you to your room, does the paperwork and payment process, tells you about the room, and then he leaves.
