  The fact that was a residence. How often can you stay in a Venetian home? Carpets were a bit rundown and the lighting could be perkier but overall the stay was fab. There is no staff to speak of but the one man who signed us in was very efficient.   This hotel is a gem. The room was fantastic, easy walk to San Marco and the staff was lovely. I would highly recommend it.
