Novella House is renovated 1800s apartment house with original frescos on the ceilings. It is impossible to roll your luggage into the hotel but fortunately the owner took our bags up into the room (there is a small lift). Our room was spacious with a decent bed; there was a sitting area for tea and coffee, but the bathroom was so tiny, it had a foldaway shower. The room itself is quiet but outside the window you have the typical Italian street noise, maybe more so as there is a boarding house

Florence was the last city of our trip to Italy an stepping into Residenza dell' Orafo was amazing. Marta the girl who received us was so friendly and kind, that we didn't have a chance to ask questions. She opened a map and starting marking tourist sites as well as Restaurant recommendations. Beautiful contemporary design, fabulous service, incredible location, artsy and intimate....what a find. Claudio, Roberta and Sylvia were amazing, they recommended exceptional restaurants, organized tours and taxis and guided you to the must see sites. Free coffee/tea/treats throughout the day...dishware/glassware available to use in room. Fantastic café around the corner with very generous breakfast included.
