this is the most comfortable and excellent stay at my trip. My friends even want to rent it for half year. The newly renovated and well furnished provided. Skalanes is a unique experience, an idyllic farm 16 km from the last village, at the entrance of the fjord, with fantastic birdlife and much more. Ole the owner and manager together with the volunteers run it in a very relaxed and friendly way.

The room was small but comfortable and clean with a desk, a comfy single bed a wardrobe etc. Really good, well equipped kitchen and really nice shower/bathroom. By mistake we have ordered a room for 1 person while being together with my 11y old son. The second set of linen etc was arranged in 5 mins.
The shared kitchen has full set of equipment including pots, frying pans etc. Besides you can buy some food right in the hostel.

It is really the upstairs of a duplex home. Extremely spacious and clean, fantastic for an extended visit or just a night. What really makes the place special is the hostess. We were trapped by a storm for a couple of extra days and her kindness was heaven sent. -
