Excellent location right in the centre. A few minutes walk from the central station. Really good breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious rolls, scrambled egg, etc. Coffee brilliant.

Excellent location, very close to train station and many restaurants...just a few steps to the lovely lake area. It's close to shopping and sights, too, and if you're not too burdened with luggage, you can walk from the cruise center (we did, with 50-pound bags). Room and bathroom clean - good breakfast - Staff very helpful. Location central -very easy access to both U bahn and S bahn as well as Hbf. Although single room was compact it contained facilities to a good standard. Breakfast excellent.

Excellent.We stayed in this hotel only for one night , but it is suffice to say that we felt homey. Commodious , cleanness of the rooms , very good breakfest. The Alster Hof was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Hamburg. The hotel is located close to downtown shopping, the staff are very friendly and helpful (eg. went out of their way to help knowing that I was unwell during my stay), a comprehensive breakfast and free internet access were provided and it was very well priced. -
