Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Modern decor with old character architecture and clean. We were pleased to have a large room, Jr Suite, with a small balcony facing Rohrbacher Strasse to accommodate three of us. Beds were quite comfortable. Nice European breakfast with coffee, juices, yogurts, cereal, meat and cheese and yummy breads. A great location right on Bismarkplatz and near the Hauptstrasse. We stayed at Hotel Tannhaeuser for two nights, but easily could have stayed longer. Free wi-fi.
wszystkie opinie » Staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with fresh bread rolls and scrambled eggs made from real eggs, not egg powder. In general the hotel is very, very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent, directly opposite Bismarck square. From the main station take any tram to Bismarckplatz, takes 8 minutes and costs only Euro 1,20 (May 2013). There was no kettle in the room but we asked and were given one straight away. The cot provided for our 11 months old son. Great location in centre of Heidelberg, easy walk to the main shopping areas. Lots of places to eat and drink. Good continental breakfast. Please note that the hotel does not have its own parking. You can pull up outside to drop off your bags but it is on a busy corner. There is an underground car park only 5 mins walk away and it cost us 10 euro for 24 hours. We were able to walk to this hotel from the railway station, took about 20 minutes.We enjoyed staying here because it is in a perfect location to walk to the old town. The staff were very nice and obliging and a lovely breakfast was included in the price. Highly recommend this hotel. No elevator for older guests. Liked everything. There is no elevator in the hotel. The website said there was some limited parking but there was none. You had to park at a parking station. Unfortunately the Bismarkplatz is Under reconstruction and they are working night and days. I couldn't sleep because of the noise. But no one will tell you that. So if you plan to sleep, find another location. We booked a double room but obviously received a single since it was very small and there were towels and bedding for one. The floorboards creaked and the wifi signal was very weak. Aside from the location, we were very disappointed with this hotel. The wooden floor was making lot of noise on walking. No proper sound proof facilities,no lift. Old building, floor planks are separated and looks dirty. I was in double room which was looking at some small courtyard in the center of the hotel - not much light and there was no view at all. Bed however is comfortable, shower does not have cabin so showering can be little bit cold. Breakfast is average - not something what I will remember. Next day I have gone to the hotel across the street. Parking is not on site as claimed. Staff not particularly helpful. Breakfast poor More a stop over than a holiday hotel.
