The location is excellent and the breakfast is good. The view from the top floor terrace is beautiful.
All the hotels in Rio are quite expensive and this one is no exception. The staff can be a bit friendlier (that's what you expect from brazil). The internet connection included in the room rate is extremely slow and works only for one device at a time. Also, the mattress is very soft and not very comfortable.

The hotel staff is great, everyone were very attentive, well informed about the attractions in the city and did everything to help us during our stay. Location is excellent, in front of Ipanema Beach, and near to a lot of restaurants and bars. Despite the tiny little pool, there is a bar and a small deck with an incredible view from above Ipanema.
We missed the bathtub in our room (we have chosen the standard, that does not have one). Breakfast was good, but it could be better, in a hotel like that. The big problem is not the hotel, but the reservation: letsbookhotel.com shows a price that does not include all the taxes, although they make a disclaimer about it in the web site. Pay attention to that, or you are going to pay a little more on your check out (10%, I guess).
Front desk staff was superior - especially Leonardo and Roger - bell captain and staff were very attentive and helpful - breakfast was far superior than many hotels we have stayed in
Internet connection only allowed one connection - not computer and phone at the same time - also it was extremely slow A lot of noise from overhead Room 102 - don't know if some construction was taking place but it was very annoying.

I was charged 10% extra for service fees on a pre paid booking .why don't they put the total amount straight away? don't agree with this method is design to trick people on the prices. Also my room was supposed tobe with a mountain view according to letsbookhotel.com description, and all I Could see fro the window was more buildings and buildings!

Location was excellent, across from the beach and close to all facilities. Very comfortable.
With the added at on the total bill it was fairly expensive. It's a shame there are not facilities in our room to make ourselves a cup of tea or coffee.

Incredible location..very clean and nice rooms. Though I had to wait about an hour to check in but the front desk infact particularly Mr. Leonardo was kind enough to check me into a spacious sea view room though I had a mountain view booking. The lobby is quite comfortable and they serve you very well and too be true very well priced. The roof top bar & pool again are a joy giving a breathtaking view of the beach all around. To sum up a great place to stay and I would return soon..
There need to be more people at the front desk at peak hours as it takes too much time to either check in or out. Secondly the breakfast needs to be a little more well thought off. was kind of too flat. The roof top pool should have heated water..a must I would say

Price for the weekend was a little high in our opinion.
The Sol Ipanema is across from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The view from the small roof-top sun deck is breathtaking. The staff were friendly, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast very good. As a solo traveller, it was the perfect place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.
The room price was high for a room without a view but Rio hotel prices are generally too high. Hopefully prices will stabilize after the world cup and olympics are over.

The room service of the restaurant of the hotel was very slow. It took about 1 hour and a half to receive a sandwich.

Asked about transport on. Transfer to paraty, couldn't organise a shared transfer for us but now I know it's easy to do, as I just emailed paraty tours and they set up for me. Only offers private transport, asumtion that you ar wealthy and and afford.

Rooftop was closed during breakfast - I wanted to see the view of Ipanema Beach in Rio during the only time I had available.
Superb location and wonderful room looking right out on to Ipanema beach. Great breakfast spread but most of all very good service, especially from Mr. Bollentini, the GM of the hotel who personally intervened to sort out to our complete satisfaction an unfortunate situation that had emerged and might have soured our stay. Cannot endorse the hotel strongly enough.
The Fiducia restaurant is needlessly expensive without the food rising to that level (as expensive as Zuka almost but going nowhere near that quality of food).

The fact that I tríed to cancel 4 out of my six day reservation with letsbookhotel.com and after website confirmation, the hotel denies my any refund and shows me an email reply to the web site denying any kind of refund. Having known this from the begining I would have organize the trip in a different manner

The hotel is very expensive during bank holidays so book well in advance if you can the rooms at the back of the hotel are ok but nothing special in caparison with ocean view ones The walls are paper thin so you can hear your heighburs very well

There is no sitting room or lounge in this hotel. Pocket- sized swimming pool.
We stayed at the sol Ipanema for 3 nights at the beginning of March. We chose a deluxe sea view room and it didn't disappoint. We were on the 11th floor and had fabulous views in both directions. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning and had 2 evening meals in the restaurant, the second time because the rain was too heavy to venture out! Both meals were of a good quality. Other guests commented on the small rooftop pool but quite frankly with such a wonderful beach across the road it didn't matter. The free beach umbrella and chair service was excellent. I gave it as good value for money as we really enjoyed our stay but it is like all other Rio hotels in that you pay alot for what you get. Other parts of Brazil are half this price.

This hotel has the best location, in front of the famous Posto 9. We loved the sea view from our bedroom on 11th floor. Design is not necessarily the best but all is very clean and in good condition. As we are not early birds, we appreciated the black out curtains.
The swimming pool is more like a hot tub but the hotel is in front of one of the most beautiful beaches... Air conditioning is a bit noisy.

Central location When we arrived at 4 am after many delays on the plane - the staff were on duty and helpful
They removed the bath and made a large shower recess. Service was slow. Swimming pool was just a plunge pool - very small. Lobby was very cramped

The air conditioner was leaking water and we were not able to get a good night's sleep. Also, the electronic cards malfunctioned. The breakfast present us with a lot of varities but the taste is pretty basic.

I paid 36 reais for a salad that had 10 leaves, 4 small pieces of tomatoes and few other things. I ordered it thinking that I would have a "lunch" salad. No way. Ridiculous for 36 reais. Before I had sandwiches for that price that were a lunch, even Lasagna for 40 reais. I already had complained to Eduardo at the main desk but got no feedback.
How important is it to you to open your bedroom curtains in the morning and look down on Ipanema beach? If you feel it's worth say $80 more per day than the same standard hotel five minutes away, then stay at Ipanema Sol.
