Great place to stay in Rio. We went for the pricier rooms that overlook Ipanema beach and I'd say they were well worth it. Stunning views of the beach/bay plus dramatic sunsets. The hotel is small and calm-feeling. Having breakfast (really delicious) out on the terrace by the beach, watching the morning surf/beach exercise crowd, was a great start to the day. All you hear at night are the breaking waves - quite a feat for being in a city of 9 million people. Friendly and professional staff too,

From the second we walked through the door our experience was amazing.
The staff were so helpful and checked us in early, we had purchased a
room with executive level access (well worth it as there is an open bar
and lots of snacks/food available during the day free of charge!)
and were upgraded to a suite with spectacular views of Copacabana Beac

Our stay at the Ipanema Plaza was excellent. When we arrived tired (without luggage, lost by the airline) we were offered a room already at 0600 although we hadn't expected to check-in until 1400. We stayed at the sol Ipanema for 3 nights at the beginning of March. We chose a deluxe sea view room and it didn't disappoint. We were on the 11th floor and had fabulous views in both directions. Incredible location..very clean and nice rooms. Though I had to wait about an hour to check in but the front desk infact particularly Mr. Leonardo was kind enough to check me into a spacious sea view room though I had a mountain view booking. The lobby is quite comfortable and they serve you very well and too be true very well priced. The roof top bar & pool again are a joy giving a breathtaking view of the beach all around. To sum up a great place to stay and I would return soon..
