Large room Free parking ! (at least during our stay) Friendly staff (improvised breakfast buffet on other floor but our requests were immediately taken care off)
we had to take our breakfast in a smaller room on another floor where we had no chance to sit at the window for sea sight; we were a little disappointed because we wanted to have our breakfast in the Périgord with a nicer view on the sea. Breakfast buffet was a little bit improvised in that room
Stayed here several times and the service is always good, the location is very good on the promenade with sea views and beach outside the door. The town centre is a short walk away. Always eaten in the Bistro, where the food is good and they do have an English menu. But everyone is helpful and usually friendly.
The comfort
correct - perfect location - fantastic breakfast
Location, the staff, superb breakfast in a lovely setting, a beautiful hotel.
The beds were a little uncomfortable could do with matress toppers.
Elegant and relaxed hotel. A modern Grand hotel. The fantastic wine goblets and excellent food and drink. Thanks for resolving the parking charges.
The parking charges
the sea view and the coast, the breakfast, the location, the hotel building itself, the cleanliness inside and out, fresh fish, the convenient tramway
I liked everything.
Art deco style, breakfast with beach view. Spacious room, excellent bed, acceptable WiFi speed
Noise from adjacent rooms: foodsteps, my snoring neighbour ; bathroom, although clean, a bit outdated
The rooms were big and the hotel is located right on the beach.Price is good and is value for money. The parking is adeqate and the breakfast is good.
Mini bar fridge was not cooling. The windows patio balcony on the first floor needs renovating as there a chance small children can open the aging safety catch. The suite room partion needed cleaning. The Resturant closes early. A Large hotel which is need renovation paint & polish.
Staff was excellent. Beautiful lobby and restaurant. Perfect location and walk right out to the beach.
Rooms were a bit old but still clean.
Everything super fantastic and professional.
Every room should have a 4 star feel. from the cheapest to the most expensive
The place naar the sea. Easy parking. Good food. Sleepingplaces OK.
Waiting-rows for checking-in and out.
Waking up with the sound of the sea.
The fact that you have to pay for fresh orange juice at breakfast. no freshly cut fruit.
Staff was excellent especially Eileen who was very friendly did her best to help us with directions both in Oostende and Brugges. Thank u Eileen. Beautiful North Sea view from the room. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff in the restaurant. Comfortable room.
Balconies full of algae. No AC, no screen to cover windows so we had to stay inside with closed balcony doors in a hot weather to avoid anything that might crawl in.
The splender of the hotel, even though a little dated you could see how good it had been at 1 point, can't wait to return say in 5 years when the ongoing upgrades to the promande are finished. In summary a nice relaxing 3 night break.
The restaurant menu could have more variety, but what we did have was of excellent quality.
The location is really beautiful in front of the sea. It's an hotel with tradition. The rooms have a generous size. You can take an appointment for the sauna.
There was mould in the bathroom. The furniture was quiet old .
The grandeur, the breakfast, the big building, the history
Nice staff Big room Nice see view
Lack of information in the room about facility in the Hotel,
Lovely beach view
In need of decoration in places
Location and style of hotel are good - bistrot restaurant and breakfast also good value for money
A little in need of renovation/upkeep here and there - terribly noisy neighbours till 1 a.m because of inadequate soundproofing.
Splendid-looking place, façade featured in one of my favourite horror films so was thrilled to see it in real life. Room was not exceptional, but fine, no complaints. A bit shabby (which I don't mind) but clean. Good (and free) wi-fi connexion, and free bottled water. Breakfast was good.
I was given a room overlooking the carpark - can't complain since it was a last-minute booking, but was disappointed all the same. There was no choice of beer in the bar, which was a bit shocking - this is BELGIUM.
View on the sea
Not the level of a 4 stars! The furniture the lack of seats on the terrace terrace not clean (old cigarettes...)
Beachfront location
Condition of the hotel - 3 star at best. Rooms had worn carpets, paint coming off the wall. Ostend is nice but I would consider a different hotel.
For our purpose the location was excellent on the beach and opposite the racetrack
The staff, although very friendly, were very inexperienced and some did not understand english or french. The fixtures and fitting are very tired and old fashioned.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast restaurant staff were friendly and helpfull. Overal, the location was great, right on the beach .. we had a good stay.
At on etime it was a very grand hotel, time and the sea / salt winds have taken their toll. Though renovations are taking place parts of the building fabric were missing with exposed steel. In the rooms there was pealing paint and crumbling plaster. The staff though friendly were not as efficient as could be with mistakes in the bistro restaurant on two nights.
Location, view, size of rooms
Run down, rooms and bathrooms have poor amenities and not very clean, quality of breakfast
The breakfast was really good.
It might be to expensive for what you get.
Magnificent Building, unique position at the sea front. Excellent breakfast!
Staff couldn't find our letsbookhotel.com reservation. We were lucky they could give us similar rooms as we selected through letsbookhotel.com!
good breakfast nice spacey rooms quiet and on the beach
heat could not be turned down in room and it was soooooo hot
the location, the front seaside
we had a room with a seaview, but were not able to open the window and the beds were really bad.
location on the cost
hotel is old and tired
Location
First room smelled of fungus, horrible humid. Second room on top of party that lasted till 03.00, for hotel that advertises with relaxing, wellness... A joke!
It was far too exensive. We booked a room with seaview. The balcon was not clean, the room was old, the bath room was old, the carpet was old, ...Summary, I expected for that price 217 € a luxury room and not an old room. We were very disappointed!
The location on the seafront was superb. It is a stunning building that is currently being renovated over the next two years. It is within walking distance of Ostende's many bars and restaurants.
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was for the Thermae Sauna. It was closed! It will be closed until well into 2014 for refurbishment! This was not mentioned on your letsbookhotel.com or the Thermae's website. As such I am not very happy at all!
