This hotel was fantastic- we stayed in a double room with spa-bath for 3 nights and loved it. Port Douglas is a small relaxed community but is a great place to stay, and we used it as a base to travel to the great barrier reef as the Marina is only a couple of minutes down the road from the hotel. In the other direction it is close to shops and groceries (across the street). The staff are really friendly and happy to help, and the facilities are great. Would throughly recommend it.
wszystkie opinie » Hotel entrance was on main street in Port Douglas, next to shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants, and yet so peaceful, clean, well equipped and spacious. The apartments are away from the busy street, and yet everything thing is so accessible. Nice pool for a swim after doing the local tours. Hotel owner was extremely helpful arranging tours, always had time for helping his guests. Beautiful and spacious room and the balcony was great for enjoying the morning and evening sun. Everything had been thought of from extra towels for the beach to a little carton of milk in the fridge for our tea/coffee. Although right on the Main Street it was quiet and relaxing and with instant access to the excellent shopping & restaurants PD has to offer. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Clean, well presented, value for money accommodation. Right in the heart of town. Walking distance to all Port Douglas had to offer in the way of eateries, beaches, markets, shops etc. great place, would definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Very helpful management staff who booked trips for us and gave us great advice about the area. This place was really great value. The beds were first class and condition of kitchen was excellent. Everything promised was delivered. Having a kitchen, dining table and patio saved us a huge amount of money in expensive Port Douglas eateries. Very friendly owners who also provide information on tours and assist in booking. The location in Port Douglas is very central, supermarket across the street, almost all restaurants and cafes less than 5 minutes walk away. The whole atmosphere was friendly,relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. Very good value for money. We will return in, hopefully, 2 years time, and with luck get the same room overlooking the pool and views of the rainforest!. Great location to beautiful town. The Poor weather in early September Other than the weather maybe the street noise from the Pubs across the road late at night but you get used to it. Carting the luggage up the stairs, and I was disappointed that the water in the pool wasn't warmer as was advertised as solar heated but we all felt it very cool. On arrival we didn't feel very welcome by the manager who seemed to be in a hurry and kept stressing that we would be charged extra money if the room had the slightest smell of smoke. However, the lady in reception the next day seemed to be very friendly. Next door neighbour very loud (1 room is close to the one you are in) .. To be fair this is down to the neighbours involved , you do have to sign a contract to say you will be quiet between decent hours. We liked everything about the place. Nothing. There was nothing that we didn't like. There is no elevator (fortunately the owner carried my suitcase !). The view from the balcony is nice but no perspective. Studio accommodation was a bit tight. A little noisy at times. No seating area inside the room. Some Service staff very loud and raucous in corridor early in morning showing little consideration to room occupants. a few balcony's had restricted views of the pool, but special requests are followed through. No toaster for early morning cup of tea and toast. Stairs. Nothing. the apartment on ground floor. Whilst this was only a minor problem, the room was a bit confined, thus at our future trips we might go for a bigger unit. Nothing. All good nothing I did not like. Minor detail; able to see into our room a While people cooking on barbecue, going up/down steps to pool area. Lots of stairs Uncomfortable lounge Laundry facilities No fly screens Shower over spa bath. Entrance and corridor a bit tired. Smoking on balconies spread from room to room. Pool area ok but too small & in the shade mostly. Noise from neighbouring bars at night & over zealous council gardeners in the morning. Stairs, but thankful for assistance with luggage. Perhaps mention on website no lift. A little lack of privacy with the close proximity of the unit next door and the units straight across from ours but unavoidable given the location of the resort. I would suggest a little more greenery to shield the balconies. Nothing.
