I had a private room so it was luxurious! Great that towels were provided that was a real bonus and simple breakfast was really appreciated. I was also impressed that I was given a discount for the broken sink. Overall I was really impressed as I haven't stayed in a backpacker's lodge since the 70's!!! Yes I am 60 years young!!!!!!. We booked a double room which was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. The hostel was very quiet even though that it was surrounded by bars. We enjoyed our stay.

The facilities were clean and the stuff very helpful and friendly. Convenient and budget friendly for late night (am) arrival. The staff and kitchen. Location perfect. Clean rooms and showers. Quiet most nights so if you're working its a great place to stay. If you want to drink etc, youth shack just down the road is the sister hostel and they put quiz nights on and have a bar etc. Good solid choice if you don't want too rowdy, it's on Mitchell street so you only have to walk out the door to get rowdy. I was surprised about cleanliness in (double) room and toilet blocks. Boys are more nice and friendly than Girls. Luggage storage, internet cards at reasonable price, location. Much comfortable than Maleuca with cheaper rates. Location. It was good location for Main Street and the bars. Location, staff were friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable. Sink in room. Friendly staff. nothing to add here. noise coming from the street early hours but not chilli fault. was always quite in hostel. No pool on premises. Noise- people throwing up outside our window. Unisex loos and showers and the showers were very poor and not too clean. Not enough showers. Too expensive for what we got. The rooms are small and very noisy. The air conditioner and fan going all night is like a freight train in your ear. I had a mixed dorm but was the only girl in the room. The night attendant was pretty rude, unhelpful and seemed annoyed I'd arrived so late (was arriving in a 12:30 am flight). The facilities are a bit shoddy. Breakfast is a joke. But I don't expect too much from backpackers. The melaleuca across the street is way better and more modern for the same price. Booked into a 4 bed but when we arrived we were in an 8 bed which was the same price. Bathrooms not clean. Showers poor, no pressure and poor water direction. Very noisy outside, but not Chillis fault. The location and hostel was extremely noisy. We booked a double room so thought we would have some peace and quiet, but we could hear noise until 5am of doors slamming and loud voices from the busy street just outside. Not a great place to stay if you want a decent nights sleep.
