  This hotel is absolutely wonderful- a breath of fresh air. From the time we arrived early to the time we checked out the entire stay was so easy. The staff are all extremely welcoming and friendly, the rooms are amazing and the rooftop bar has the most brilliant views. Wine hour every afternoon is also a nice little perk to staying here! It's close to Times Square and local neighbourhoods in which there are plenty of great restaurants and bars, but not too close tha - We had a terrific view from our Hudson Suite of the Macy's July 4th fireworks; it was the most important factor in our choice on ink48 and we weren't disappointed. The Hudson Suite was well-designed and filled with light - quite different from other Manhattan suites we have stayed in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were surprised how close we were to the theater district.

Terrific location near to the Lincoln Centre and Metropolitan Art Gallery.   The Greenporter is a retro styled hotel and works very well as exactly that. It doesn't pretend to be a luxury hotel and doesn't charge as one. We liked it a lot. It also has an extremely good chef, my wife rated one of the dishes she ate as the best she'd ever eaten, and she is not given to overstatement. I would comfortably recommend it to anyone, but would also suggest they don't use Hoppy's Cl - The room its own AC unit and fridge both essential during the hot spell. The cleaning staff were thorough and extremely helpful. Swimming pool small but nice and very quiet. The hotel is ideally located for walking into the town which has an abundance of nice bars and restaurants.

  Self-contained unit, safe secure entry, spacious with modern kitchen facilities. Plastic bowls and plates cutlery etc..but I guess it saves washing and breakage. Good clothes storage facilities. Neighbourhood is quite ethnic..but safe as we walked back fro the subway late at night and went shopping to try to buy food to cook..which was impossible ... hva folk sier » unless you have ethnic/Asian tastes. Most of the European restaurants are at the other end of Brooklyn near the bridge. Though there is a McDonalds ab - We were really impressed with the hotel. Surprisingly nice for such a great price. It isn't in manhattan but it is a 10 min walk between 2 metro stations and fast to get to everywhere. The area itself was multi cultural which means great food! Also, there were some really great cafes and bars in walking distance (we loved sycamore - which is a flower shop with a bar in the back, milk and honey - which has great breakfast, and there is even a coffee shop at newkirk plaza station that had Toby's
