This boutique hotel is "just right". Not too big, not too small, not too fancy, not too plain: relaxed, casual elegance. The food is excellent. Most of the staff have been there for years. The hotel is at the far end of Waikiki Beach, next to the Nanitorium, across from Kapiolani Park and close to Diamond Head--in short, away from the madness of Waikiki but within walking distance.

Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Staff were helpful. Lovely outlook over banyan trees and sweet night twitterings emanated from the birds nesting in the banyans as we slept. Great location for Volcanoes National Park and Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls. We did all 3 in one day. Beautiful walk in the gardens opposite the hotel.

The hotel doesn't get very good reviews so we were a little
skeptical about staying here. We were surprised to find the hotel
clean, comfortable, in a great location (wished we had booked for
2 days instead of 1),staff was very friendly and the renovations
were beautiful. Breakfast buffet was very well done. Free parking
was a bonus!

and the bed was very comfortable. Liked the fact that there was a
laundry room on our floor ( we did one load of wash), and for future

We stayed for one night before continuing on with our vacation. Loved the size of the hotel, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, lovely pool area. Enjoyed walking in the area and going to Byron's. We would definately stay here again and will highly recommend it to our friends. We walked thru the Best Western but preferred your hotel, less busy and more personal and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

WiFi in the room enables us to keep in touch with family back in Toronto and fridge and microwave in the room which was very helpful for breakfast. Ilima is a gem! The decor is absolutely vintage Hawaiian.... wood, tile, wicker, tropical prints, original local artwork, and pink all over. We had room 1507 and had an amazing view of the canal and mountains. It was perfect to wake up to this every morning, with a very big balcony seating area to have coffee and tea. I loved the cute decour, the room was well kept and clean. I know that people have made comments about the continental breakfast and so I was prepared for the worst but I honestly thought it was good. There may not be a lot of choice but it got me through the morning. Also considering that there was a kichenette in my room, I could always buy breakfast goods if I wanted more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I would stay here again. Close to lots of shopping and the beach. Eve

The staff were very helpful with their suggestions on where to go for
dinner, etc. I also liked that Starbucks Coffee was on site. Other hotel
coffees tend to miss the mark. This is so important when you wake up and
need to get your day started! I also loved the onsite laundry facilities
- it helps keep clothes fresh since we go through many clothes with the
heat and humidity.
