  Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents. Absolutely love staying downtown. - Very close to the Gaslamp quarter, this means many dining/drinking opportunities. Staff was super corteous, friendly and helpful.   This was by far the best hotel we have found in San Diego. Luxury for a very reasonable price! Impressive from the moment you see it from a distance, impressive parking, impressive, AMAZING lobby, amazing guest service, amazing everything. The room we chose was a corner King suite... Everything was perfectly clean and fresh in the bathroom. Downstairs, we chose to eat at t - Everything! I was blown away with the beauty of the lobby! The staff was wonderful, our room was fantastic, (corner king), the food was good (pulled pork was best I've had in ages!), and the views were gorgeous. I loved how close it was to so many areas of SD. The pool area (with the firepits at night!) looked wonderful, but it was so windy so we didn't stay. I also loved the old pictures throughout the hotel. If you are from SD it was particularly super to see them.

  Location overlooking marina, embarcadero park is steps away for a nice place to walk . Short walk to gaslamp district for great restaurants. Pool, outdoor bar and lounging area is beautiful. We loved our stay. Bell staff and concierge staff very friendly and helpful - Nice clean facility.   I simply loved the Gaslamp Quarter location which made it convient for going to the convention center for my meetings, shopping in between sessions, and lots of variety when deciding on where to dine in the evening.   I loved the room I had. It was the "04" room. It was my second time staying at this hotel. Both times I was lucky enough to be in the same room layout. As I walked down the hall toward my room this time I was trying to not hope that it was the same room so that I wouldn't be disappointed. Wow, was I happy. The trolley is just out the door, and they are many shops and restaurants very close by. The staff was great. The room rate ($129) was exceptional, but probably not near the standard rate.   Great location, wonderful and courteous staff who helped us even though we had to cut our stay a bit short due to a family emergency. Hotel is conveniently located and so easy to move around the city and nearby. Old Town Trolley, which is a convenient way to go to the different attractions, stops right near the hotel side entrance. Driveway, lobby, room and bathroom are all very spacious. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Our room was available upon arrival at around half past 11 in the morning and we appreciated this very much. The hotel has taken steps to be eco-friendly which is admirable.

  Bra rum och fantastiskt bra frukost - It is a beautiful hotel and had a lot of things to do. We were only there 1 night but fully enjoyed it. - very clean the stuff was very helpful, kids friendly
