Our room had a king size bed and semi private porch with table and chairs, awesome! The location is excellent and only a block from street car service. Staff are teriffic from mgmt. To service staff and they all seem to enjoy their jobs. This is a wonderfully quirky place, not for everyone, but definitely for us!

  The hotel was very convenient for visiting the city. The trolley stop is only a short walk. The hotel is an old New Orleans house and very atmospheric. Much nice than an anonymous chain hotel as long as you don't expect the same facilities. It's a bit like staying in someone's house. We only wanted somewhere to sleep as we were out all day and evening so it suited us perfectly. - Fairchild is in an excellent location to tour New Orleans! The feeling of friendly atmosphere!   Loved it, gave us a great experience of New Orleans. Staff was helpful in helping us plan trips around city. Building was cute gave us an old new orleans feel. Location was great being walking distance to french quarter but still in part of town where one could escape the tourist traps.
