  The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable and appeared to be recently updated. We also enjoyed going over to Palm Beach, the water park located on the property. The food in the restaurant located on the 1st floor was delicious! - Staff was on top of everything. We asked to change room and no issue they moved... hva folk sier » us.   We've stayed at the Hotel Galvez many times. Notice I said "many", that's because the staff is awesome. From the moment you pull up to the valet at this beautiful, historic hotel, you feel special. By far my favorite hotel in Galveston. I live in Beaumont TX only a couple of hours away. Been to Galveston too many times to count and have stay - The Galvez Hotel is a beautiful old hotel that has been magnificently restored and kept up to date. It is right on the seawall and beach and has a rich and interesting history. I like that this is prominently displayed and guests are made aware of its history. We especially enjoyed the older gentlemen curator in the lower level where a lot of pictures and artifacts are displayed. This gentlemen should be specially acknowledged as he brought the history and stories to life.

  The room was fairly nice. Would have liked a better view, however when you wait until the last minute on a holiday weekend you have no right to complain.
