This is the perfect oasis away from the high rise buildings of Dubai. The hotel is calm, quiet and well laid out. Staff are efficient and extremely attentive without being in the way.
Close to the airport but no discernable aircraft noise and you can reach most Dubai attractions within 30 mins - taxis are plentiful and pretty cheap.

Beautiful, luxurious, very helpful staff. I loved being close to City Centre and a metro (I often just did the 15 minute walk, as I liked going through the golf course area with birds). Again, extremely gracious staff - high marks to my room service deliverer, the ladies at the front desk, my server at Traiteur, and the gentlemen out front. High marks, all!

The Burj al Arab is beyond compare when it comes to service and a feeling of absolute luxury. The staff were amazing. The hotel is less then one year old and is spotless, although you get the impression that it will stay that way forever as the staff are constantly cleaning. The location is nearer Dubai old town with the many souks etc. It is part of the Jumeirah chain so you can use Jumeirah beach hotel, madinat, WIld Wadi etc for free.

warm welcome, we were upgraded to a better room, after we arrived to the
room, the staff called to welcome us and check that everything is ok.
The pools are great and there is a lot of them. The kids pool has a big
umbrella so kids can swim under the shade. The beach is open sea. There
is a variety of top restaurants. There is a kids area with lots of toys.
