I can only describe our stay as absolutely..... flippin..... fabulous. The staff were welcoming from start to finish. The apartment was immaculate. The extras (champagne, beers, gin, vodka, soft drinks, chocolates, fruit basket, food to make a cooked breakfast, fresh bread and much, much more) were excellent. The bed was both huge (queen size) and extremely comfy. There was nothing we wanted or needed that wasn't there. Even a dishwasher and washing machine! Perfect.

The owners were welcoming and friendly and the accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful - gluten-free bread was supplied specially for me, which was much appreciated. The guest house was ideally situated for exploring York - and was only a minutes' walk from the football ground too! -

Blown away by the plush, stylish apartment. We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV)
Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum.
The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :)

Nikki and her children Miles and Alicia were the perfect hosts. We
stayed on the top floor and the rooms were perfect with a nice view from
the rooftop windows. Nikki made us a lovely breakfast and gave us a lot
of information and directions around the city of York. I would recommend
staying here and would love to come back for another visit one day.

A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

The rooms are generously proportioned and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. The breakfasts are excellent. Location, near a gate to the old city and very close to shops, as the main reason for our visit was to do our Christmas shopping. Accurate, detailed instructions for finding the apartment were easy to follow. Also the small problem we had with the kitchen lighting was dealt with very promptly, effectively and courteously. The apartment was warm and cosy and suited our needs very well.
