Situated in a beautiful part of the Lake District, The Mortal Man offers stunning scenery, and delicious food made with local produce. Bedrooms have magnificent views. The country house-style rooms at The Mortal Man Inn feature TVs, radios and tea/coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms have both baths and showers. The traditional pub has a bar menu, a range of local ales and a large beer garden with plenty of seating and countryside views. Guests can enjoy fine cuisine and panoramic views of Lakeland mountains in Anthony's restaurant. Fishing and water sports are available on the lake, and there is horse riding just down the road. Ambleside and Windermere are both less than a 10-minute drive from the property, and there is free parking on site.

The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful. The Mortal Man is a traditional old man set in beautiful countryside with some lovely walks near by. The food is very good and the breakfast menu is excellent, made more lovely by sitting in the dining room overlooking the scenery. The beds are comfortable, water piping hot for a nice soak in a bath along with lovely "smellies" for relaxation!.
alle vurderinger » We stayed in the four poster room for the second time, its so lovely with fantastic views. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. There's such a good choice for breakfast and this time we had dinner, wow gorgeous food Can't wait to go back again :-). Kid friendly - we have a two year old. It was lovely to spend the long November evenings in the bar enjoying drinks and food and musical entertainment by locals on our first night. Worth being a bit out of Ambleside. The location is beautiful. Homely, welcoming atmosphere and the accommodation was excellent. The staff were very helpful,friendly and patient as we were a little loud at times!! Nothing was too much trouble.The food was first class, absolutely delicious. A traditional Lakeland Inn with log fires and warm hospitality. It was comfortable, friendly, the food was good and the beds warm and comfortable. The views were breathtaking and the wine and beer excellent!. Once again we had an excellent stay, we keep returning because of the hotels position,the food, the atmosphere and the helpful, friendly staff. We just love it !!! can't wait to return........and we will !!. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. The scones and cake were lovely. The evening meals were very good. There were lovely views from the hotel and it was very peaceful. A great old Inn with excellent modern cuisine and uninterrupted views of Windermere down the valley. Set in the heart of the Lakes, it is gentle in its exploitation of its romantic past. Lovely place to stay, staff friendly and easy going. Great breakfast and relaxed atmosphere in the bar areas. Made us (and dog) very welcome and we will certainly return in the future. Location,and the 4 poster room fitted in with the atmosphere of the hotel. Spectacular views and walks straight from the doorstep, dog owners are well accomodated. Relaxing break. We liked everything about the place it was in a great position to explore the surrounding area.The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.We will stay there again. Beautiful 16thc Inn in a stunning location. Cozy bar and eating areas with 4 open fires in total! Plenty of tea/coffee/hot choc provided in the room. Friendly, helpful staff. I respect the building is an old and traditional however the overall accommodation is in desperate need of updating and some TLC. Apart from that a comfortable stay. There isn't any internet in the rooms and not to good of a mobile signal But really it isn't the hotels fault, if I'm honest it was great being able to tell people, sorry we didn't keep in touch- no signal!!!!!. Breakfast options were good but a bit lacking in quality. cant think of anything!. Nothing. nothing. Our toilet didn't flush very well. Nothing. The only downside ....the room was so lovely ....I wish I had spent more time in it :(. The only thing I would say is there are not enough parking spaces.It didn't help that some people were thoughtless and could have parked closer to the car next to them. Shower not great.Dining experience not as good as the menu made it sound!. No relevant comments. Nothing. Poor wifi reception in most areas of hotel at certain times of the day. Having to leave!. Shame folk nights only on Sunday nights as we missed it as only there for weekend. nothing. Very friendly and helpful staff - but a little disorganised. Some food orders didn't get cooked. Our packed lunches weren't made. Restaurant service a little slow. can't think of anything!. We have no complaints. Everything was great. nothing we did not like. Table with best view in dining room is furthest from bar and consequently staff often overlooked us for too long. nothing. Lack of communication facilities, ie no landline phone in bedroom, no mobile signal, fair wifi if near Bar. I need to be contactable 24/7 so I need to know if a hotel has comms when I choose one. 'Car park'. we liked everthing. Room 1 was freezing during the night and couldbg sleep properly because of this :(. Please note that we settled our bill directly with the hotel, please do not double bill us We have receipts & paid by Cr ard. Having to wait an unexceptable length of time to be served dinner. Staff went into meltdown momentarily and panicked. The high cost of a very average to poor room.
