With all the charm, comfort and atmosphere of an English country house, this hotel enjoys a superb location in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, directly opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The Shakespeare properties, New Place and its Elizabethan gardens are literally on the hotel's doorstep. Warwick Castle, Oxford, the Vale of Evesham, the beautiful Cotswolds and Cheltenham Race Course are only a short journey away.
Set in its own attractive grounds with ample car parking (charges apply), the hotel is a very convenient place to meet, enabling guests to combine business and pleasure. Unfortunately due to the age of the building, there is no lift.
During your stay, keep in touch with friends and family by making use of the BT Open Zone, which is fitted throughout the hotel at additional charge.
We do offer luggage assistance as we don’t have a lift.

I was surprised at the size of the room. It was much larger than Iwas expecting. Plus the very helpful reception staff, who also verykindly stored my luggage in a secure area when I arrived too early topick up my room. A very efficient and friendly man checked us in. The room was superb for the price, quiet, spacious, clean with slippers, robe, chocolates and port!. It was all fantastic but the fact that it was so close to the theatre I was going to and also to the town centre. alle vurderinger »

The room was excellent - very comfortable and quiet. central to town and theatres, tv in room did not work properly suggest a freeview in each room. staff were obliging with local information, good breakfast, good location. traditional-comfortable;helpful staff. This is my second visit to the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Friendly staff. Ideal location for the theatre. Good parking facilities that seemed very secure. Breakfast was served promptly by friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble - the choice of food was well varied. I am a vegetarian and was offered a choice of food to meet my needs. Almost everything. The food was very good, the location was excellent. The patio eating area was very pretty. The flowers were amazing.a dodder to RSC theatre and to good restaurants in town, staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Excellent included dinner on first night. Location very good for town centre and the theatre. Friendly staff, good food, good location. position of hotel to theatre and shops. Pleasant staff and good hotel location. The room service food was great. location, room, staff excellent. Location and friendly staff. Proximity to Court Theatre. We were in the older part of the hotel and the room was traditional and in keeping with the building which was nice. The staff were helpful and the breakfast offered was really lovely. They also have a car park which is a real bonus in Stratford. Checking in and out was easy and quick. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. Hotel was clean. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. The location, and close proximity to Stratford's town centre and major sites. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. Relaxed and comfortable, and excellent location.Polite and friendly staff, excellent choice at breakfast and situation itself in Stratford. Warm wlecome. Really close to the theatre and other 'touristy' things. A good breakfast!. Attention to detail as a deluxe room we had chocolates, port and dressing gowns. Fabulous location, charming building and room, non-smoking and quiet.Very close to town centre and theatre. Friendly atmosphere. Excellent location, room was gorgeous. Good value for money.I would have preferred a seperate socket for the kettle, rather thankeep unplugging the table lamp. But this is only a very small quibble, and not really a dislike, just an observation. didn't realise you had to pay for hotel car parking. Absence of radio in the bedroom. Access from Car Park. Could do with a bit of TLC - peeling wallpaper and scuff marks on the walls from luggage etc. The long but unavoidable trek to our room that was on the third floor! Although this did not cause us a problem it would probably be unsuitable for elderly people or disabled as there was no lift. We walked from the reception area and it took us just over 3 minutes of brisk walking. The room we stayed in was in need of rennovation. The shower was very noisy and the furnishings were outdated. However fewer guests on Sat night meant food quality had slipped. Very noisy party in adjoinig room, single glazing does not help! Very long and winding corridors to room.It has no lift - although I knew that when I booked! Have stayed there deveral times and would always go back as long as I can manage the stairs!. Breakfast was a bit chaotice. Forgotten orders, etc.Standard of decoration a little shabby in some areas. damp patch on bedroom floor. uncertainty about service/buffet breakfast.Decor a bit tired and shabby, but not a problem really as it added tothe 'traditional charm'. No. We were pleased however that we looked up the directions to thecarpark which, because of the one way system and narrow roads might behard to find otherwise.Car was badly damaged in the car park. lack of a lift. The room was hot and although a fan was provided, it was a bit weak. A stronger fan would be better. the bar area was poor. Rambling layout and not the most convenient for someone with a heavy suitcase. The bar area is not quite as nice as the rest of the hotel.Only reason 'fair' was the score for comfort was because our room was so hot, even with the fan on and the window as wide as it would go for the duration of our stay (2 nights) it was still stiflingly hot. Had this not been the case the score would have been 'good'. However, this was only an issue for one of the rooms (we had 2 rooms booked). Whilst the decor of our room was a little tired, and could do with a bit of a facelift, the room was clean, cosy and comfortable. Certainly not a reason for complaint. The room rate of GBP 70.00 per couple including breakfast was quite reasonable, and we would not hesitate to stay there again.Having to pay £4 for the hotel car park: not a lot of money but it felt like a stealth tax!. The room was airless and, since it was warm, it quite uncomfortable. The pigeons outside our window drove my daughter mad - she had to close the window - not good! 8-(. The decoration was a little "tired", but the hotel in general was clean and tidy. No lift available, so my Mother found it a little hard to climb stairs, and walk long corridors. Only bad point to mention was when we arrived the reception lady made usfeel very unwelcome, as if we were a hassle to her. When we checked inthe room there wasnt the port, chocolates that we had paid for, we hadto ask twice at reception for it- not good service.
