Very relaxed and friendly. Clean and comfortable room.Helpful and friendly staff.Excellent breakfast. An all round enjoyable stay.Clean and modern decor. The shower was excellent. The service and food at breakfast couldn't be faulted. Peace and quiet.the pub. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room and hotel itself was very clean and our stay was really enjoyable, i would definately recommend to friends and would stay there again.Breakfast arrangement. friendliness of staff excellent evening meals and breakfast. Friendley staff. convenience in Torrington centre, parking off road, white fresh-looking bed linen. Nice friendly staff, good breakfast. Simple, clean room. excellent resturant and manager very helpful. Clean and tidy. Nice clean hotel, excellent evening meal, very pleasant staff in allareas. Early days with new management. I hope they do well. The contemporary decor was a pleasant surprise. Good restaurant and bar. Peaceful even though on a main road. Excellent shower. Was at the top end of cost, but is the nicest in the area so worth itfor a comfortable nights stay. Not really, but we were not directed to any car park, so we parked in the square opposite. Did not have any views of the downs as promised but that did not matter for us.No views of Downs as advertised only tops of trees and the car park.Didn't try restaurant as menu seemed limited and slightly over priced...may have been excellent! A loo brush would have been appreciated. The bed was too soft.no toilet brush in en suite. Closed on Sunday evening so special arrangement needed for check-in. Rather noisy due to traffic throuh the town. Needs signage to reception area. Road noise in rooms at front of hotel.Breakfast choices a bit limited. I would have liked the infomation that they charged extra for single occupation. Do they have single rooms? The hotel was almost empty and therefore the extra charge was not warented. Milk out of date in befroom tea facility. No direction signs to check in.The room had not been fully cleaned. The toilet was soiled and the empty milk containers were still left from the previous occupants. Perhaps the cleaning staff didnt quite complete the job, otherwise the room was clean and the linen was all clean. Dissapointing because the site led us to believe we would get views of the South Downs from our room, but we only had a view of the car park. We were moved for the second night but only saw a few tree tops in the distance. It's not really very clever to advertise a view that doesn't exist.Very poor service in restaurant.
