St Mawes is one of the most beautiful towns in Cornwall and this hotel
has the perfect location within the town, situated directly opposite the
small harbour with a beautiful view of the bay. We were fortunate enough
to get a sea view and balcony and I would strongly recommend requesting
this if possible. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were of a
very high standard. The breakfast was beautiful. The hotel is situated
within easy travelling distance of Truro and Falmouth and the local

Very friendly and helpful staff, superb seafront location with easy access to the castle, Falmouth ferry, restaurants, pubs, main car park etc. Clean, fresh, modern interior design.
Excellent friendly service. Lovely room with sea view and balcony. Location as near perfect as you can get if you like sea views. Very central for all local restaurants/pubs.
Excellent location. Public lounge area overlooks the sea and bay. There
was a good choice of breakfast and quality was good. Bar and restaurant
staff friendly and efficient.
the hotel is very nice in a little fishermen town. Very nice atmosphere, the staff was friendly and welkoming.
The room was good. The price is very affordable.

Quiet.
We were given a wonderful room looking out to the Quay- with balcony-
did not expect this.

Fantastic Location
Public Rooms
Staff.
The view, the breakfast, the room.
Location, efficient staff.
beauiful location.
The price.
St Mawes is a beautiful little sea side village. 3 or 4 pubs / restaurants in town serving nice food. People were very friendly, although the average age of other visitors was 65, so not a place for raging parties.,.
We had a lovely weekend in Saint Mawes. The location of the hotel was superb.
Views from the restaurant/bar were excellent.
Service at breakfast was good.
Staff were very friendly and the hotel is ideally positioned in St Mawes. Public Rooms were modern and tidy with views across the bay.
This hotel is in a fantastic location.
great location.
Location.
The location was excellent and the lounge area was nicely decorated.
Price ok cleanliness of room ok
Otherwise poor.
It was a bit of a trek from reception to the room! Not great with
heavy bags.
Bedroom needs decorating and upgrading. Bathroom needs an upgrade.
Shower was poor and it took forever for warm water to appear.
the bathroom was quite gloomy...white cold lights, pales colours: it seemed like a factory's bathroom.
Our original romm was extremely damp - an old building - and we had a very uncomfortable night with constant coughing.
breakfast - very small portions and cold, a little bit uncomfortable atmosphere (regarding breakfast staff), could be some music as a background maybe and relaxed members of staff :).
Room 203 - one of the three we occupied - had a very musty/damp
smell when first entered. Opening window and closing bathroom door
helped but it was still evident.
Bathroom had a push on shower hose, but the hotel is refurbishing throughout at present.
Good variety at breakfast- but food could have been hotter. Also journey
by car took 4 hours each way- but that is our fault.
Weather was hot - no fans in rooms, and window couldn't open wide enough to aid air circulation.
nothing.
We stayed on for two extra nights, on the basis of the quality of the first room and were very disappointed to be given a room (114) which clearly needed work doing to it.
The shower could not provide a hot/warm morning shower and the cold water tap to the wash basin, had to be coaxed to provide any water at all.
Despite reporting the problems to staff, immediately they were unable to resolve them.
This was supposed to be an upgraded room because of the view and balcony!.
Corridors a bit tired and airless.
Rooms could do with upgrading.
No phone reception in the hotel whatsoever.
wifi connection is not available in the rooms.
can't go to your room and work for business because it is cut from any internet or phone connection.
Only one bedside light for a twin bedded room. Light not adequate for reading in bed.
condition of fixtures and fittings in bedroom/bathroom.
Bathroom, would benefit from a proper shower attachment and shower screen/curtain.
The hours of the breakfast.
Hotel a bit tired , room (124) soulless.
some rooms are much worse than others.
This hotel is what it is. It is used by Shearings tours and therefore the dining room is generally full and noisy. I was advised I had to book a table for an evening meal !
I ate and drank in the Rising Sun just round the corner.
Our room was quite drab, and the bathroom was damp, and musky with some mould. Breakfast was quite basic, the full english looked to only be a 1/4 english, more plate than food.
We stayed in room 130 which was in need of modernising. The wall paper was peeling off the ceiling, the shower was leaking and the heated towel rail which was held together with tape was not working.
The rooms were tired and in need of total refurbishment and exceedingly warm. The corridors to the rooms were similarly in need of a facelift.
the rooms are a little tired. Please be aware the evening meal in the restaurant was diabolical and the staff could not give a **** , if you decide to stay eat in a local pub.
bedrooom was rather tired - carpet needed replacing, and very basic bathroom with rust and black grout on tiles.
Corridors were very drab and needed upgrading.
Bed was very un compfy.
Our room was in a very poor state, paper falling off the ceiling with black patches. Room felt very tired and in need of decoration. Shower room very small.
General run down state of public areas dirty carpets.
Had we visited before booking would not have booked.
Will not recommend .
Asked for better/bigger room, not possible at any price.
Staff reception poor.
