The en suite bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and use fresh water from the well. In the mornings, The Culbone serves a full English breakfast. Lighter choices such as toasted muffin or smoked salmon are also available. The restaurant’s award-winning menus offer dishes prepared using locally sourced produce. Guests can dine outside, which has views over the valley and the moors. The Culbone also hosts themed evenings, focused on food from around the world. The town of Minehead is less than 20 minutes’ drive away and is the starting point of the South West Coast Path. The area offers numerous activities, including sailing, windsurfing, and golf.

We loved the location,would be a joy to stay there in the summer time,the breakfast was excellent even though our first choice of salmon was not available,a very extensive menu for diners at nightime which they put their heart and soul into providing, visitors can be assured of eating well in this inn, would highly reccomend and given the oportunity would have no hesitation in revisiting. Comfortable, clean room with a lovely bed and great shower, fantastic food ( if you want to eat there book a table as it gets very busy), friendly staff. All in all a great place. It is a pub with rooms (3 rooms are dog friendly) so don't expect all the amenities of a big hotel but if you want a relaxing, value for money break in a beautiful setting go to the Culbone. Recommended.
alle vurderinger » I loved the actual location of The Culbone - on top of the Moors, very atmospheric. The Culbone looked appealing too. The Staff were instantly welcoming with a genuine warmth. Somewhere that you felt you would enjoy returning to. Loved the relaxed, but efficient, manner in which the Inn is run. The staff were appropriately friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A request to provide dairy free alternatives was acted upon - most unusual!. Very friendly staff, excellent food quality, stunning scenery and great service. Those and a very reasonable price makes this one of the best breaks ever. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting this area. Staff were very accommodating and couldn't have been more welcome. Private entrance to room to save walking through the restaurant all the time. The food was delightful and excellent value. Very friendly and helpful staff/owners. Amazing setting. Fabulous food! One of the best breakfasts ever and dinners can only be described as gourmet. Incredibly comfy bed... Really good food. the food which we thought was excellnt. everything was fabulous. The environment and room was very nice and spacious. It was disabled access friendly, but was near the road. To be fair, this only became an issue during morning and evening school run and rush hour. No noise from the pub/restaurant when we were there. The outside space was nice and the view down the valley was beautiful. Pleasants wandering free was lovely. Staff were good,food was average but pricey. Environment. Friendly staff. The interior although a very relaxing and laid back vibe, could do with some redecoration as could the room we stayed in, however, very comfortable and clean. Not an issue for us but be aware that there is no mobile reception at all and no telephone in the bedroom. That said, there is wifi but you need to ask for a password. I needed to make a quick call home and they were more than happy to let me use the phone in the bar. That I was there for too short a time!. Nothing!. The road up to the location is scary for those who don't know the area, so a warning might be useful for some. Better toiletries in bathroom required, had to use hand wash from sink in shower. Could be a little cleaner. But not a big issue. A problem with the room key meant our room was not serviced for the first three days of our stay which was a shame but staff were apologetic and no problems after that. The sound of the kitchen fan was rather loud in our room but was off by 10-10.30 every night. Bedroom 5 road noise could be off putting. A restaurant with accommodation which closed when the restaurant closed so no facilities late at night or early morning. The food was quite pricey and it is expensive to take a taxis elsewhere. Nothing significant. Noise of generator at rear of building and lack of lounge. Access to the rooms were through the restaurant area. Dinner menu a bit restrictive. 'Superior' room was a little cramped and the patio needed refurbishing. No real lounge space. Nothing. Disappointed in the food and cost given that it's a cookery school and advertised as gourmet. The breakfast was a little disappointing as well. It didn't reach our expectations from the advertising and was more like a country pub. Whole place was in need of good clean,not dirty but lacking sparkle, halls & paintwork grubby. Place advertised as in Porlock but stands in splendid isolation beside the main road 3 miles away!!. One room was so noisy that the person sleeping in it didn't get a good sleep. Constant buzzing sound even after the fan was switched off. Mixed experience at dinner, some good dishes some poor. Breakfast was nothing special, there are some cheaper B&B's in good locations with much better breakfasts.
