  We liked everything about the hotel. The food was exceptional and they serve a lovely afternoon tea. The building itself was intriguing, historic, tastefully decorated and it was like something out of an Agatha Christie story. The gardens front and back are lovely and it was delightful sitting and watching the sun going down across the lawn with ... hva folk sier » the sea in the distance. We stayed in a standard room which was a reasonable size and comfortable and clean, we were very impressed with the feather b - We stayed with two dogs, and the latter were made very welcome as were we. The room was well appointed and the special two day mid-week offer was excellent value. We decided to eat in and the food was very good and well presented. Overstrand is quiet but good walks in the evening and interesting history. The hotel has been well restored to keep the Edwardian with a hint of German, feel, of its first owner and builder. We would stay there again.
