The really lovely room that we had..with attention to the smallest detail, very nice. staff couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome even to the point of opening the kitchens early so we could get to Thursford spectacular in time and, leaving a chocolate desert in our room to eat on our return!! Will go there again. so much nicer than multi chain hotels..
The room had been refurbished to a very high standard .Full of character with exposed beams and quality fitments.
We had a meal in the bar , the quality of the food could not have been better and the service was excellent .

Most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! Everything in bedrooms/bathrooms appears brand new. Good quality furnishings with two armchairs in bedroom. Excellent food - owners even brought chef in early in order for us to eat. Nothing too much trouble.
Everything! Delicious food, a warm welcome and great décor. It appears that they have put a lot of time and effort into renovating the hotel and have done it with great success.
Nicely run hotel with friendly staff & great service... Great food & beautifully decorated rooms with nice touches..... Would not hesitate to recommend it...

It was a pity the bar closed at 10.00 pm on the Sunday as we would have liked a drink when we returned from the Thursford Spectacular at 10.35.
