Pleasant terrace in a quiet street. Not far at all from York rail station but I didn't realise this at the time so I got a taxi to take me to Briar Lea. races and it was great that the owner and other guests shared that
interest. The breakfast was very good and although the room and bathroom
were quite small it was very clean and perfect for a short stay. The

I stayed here while visiting my daughter who lives in York and I found this hotel to be lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. At the bar the service was excellent and the breakfast (a buffet) had something for everyone's taste. The hotel was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. Bar Convent is lovely. It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York.
It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.

The rooms were typical Premier Inn-so you know what to expect and you know the quality to expect (Good).
