Staff superb. Friendly and helpful from receptionist Carly to Hailey in the restaurant. Ate in on Friday we arrived and was very impressed. Quality meal at very reasonable price. Breakfast was extremely good from full English to the outstanding Eggs Royale. First class location 5 minutes from both Cathedral and Docks. Right in the City. Would happily recommend staying here. Read about noise late at night from the revellers outside and whereas there was some in the early hours, it wasn't too int.
alle vurderinger » Stayed in hotel for 2 nights in August for city break. Great central location with shops, restaurants and tourist sites all within easy walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. Room had all facilities required, clean and modern. Would stay again on another visit to Gloucester. The hotel was perfectly situated for visiting the City of Gloucester, and was within walking distance of many attractions and the station. The desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large enough and roomy, and the ensuite facilities were good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice,very clean and modern. The hotel is in a great location and ideal for our weekend to visit Kingsholm to watch the rugby. Excellent value for money and would stay again. I loved the Central location. I have know been to this hotel twice and it is my hotel of choice when in Gloucester. I had read some bad reviews of the hotel so was uncertain what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely helpful I was travelling alone so only booked a single room which understandably is possibly not the best of rooms ... There was wedding going on and much noise and frivolity (as would be expected) going on in the room next door by 9 I figured that this could possibly go on all night and I had a course the following day so asked if I could be moved ... Which was no trouble .... The food was delicious I had room service twice as not brave enough to venture to the bar al. Location - middle of town in the shopping area. Manager on duty was excellent in sorting out a booking problem that I had and was most helpful. Hotel public areas were generally very clean and tidy with a pleasant atmosphere. Also it could do we rearranging. There was no mirror for my wife even though there was a dressing table/desk. Also the only plug was on the opposite wall next to the wardrobe. Why not swap the two over an fit a mirror over the table/desk? Other than that, nothing wrong. No real issues with hotel, but the single price of breakfast meant it was expensive if you just wanted a light breakfast. Also the lack of double glazing meant that the city's noisy seagulls were annoying in the evening and morning, but still had a good nights sleep. Otherwise hotel was good. Our particular room was quite noisey. We had an extractor fan right outside our room which was gennerally going all the time. The bed was also slightly uncomfortable with springs easily felt. Our room was located at the front of the hotel and was very noisy, when it was kicking out time at the pubs. Not Much realy. If anything just a bit Over priced... Maybe the heating in some of the public areas could be turned down a couple of degrees. The mattress on the bed was far too short. Having the light switches behind the headboard is not ideal. The room is rather bare of furnerure and there were no pictures on the walls. double glazing in summer might be good idea. I arrived back in the evening having checked in earlier in the afternoon, at 8pm. The parking facilities were nearby and easy to find but that night was very cloudy and dark. I felt a little unnerved to find myself in a virtually empty car park. (Not the fault of the hotel, just how it was that night). The staff is very nice and friendly Sometimes the cleaning is not done perfectly. The view on the street comes with obvious dusturbance from the bar on the ground floor of the same building and outside noises. Some problems with the heating system and hot water but these were rectified quite quickly. Staff under too much pressure due to staff shortage - recruitment day 13th April!. Nothing to complain about. 1.Not being allocated a room lower down. We had to ascend two stairs to the second floor. 2. The quality of the cooked (paid for) breakfast was not the best it could have been. 3. Room was not serviced on the Saturday. Cange of towells were left outside door. 4. Noise from street - especially Friday night. 5. Food Menu not displayed. 6 Sunday Lunch menu not given publicity. 7. Light not working in Men's toilet. The room was slightly chilly at night but the weather was cold for May. lack of soap in the room and faulty kettle. At breakfast the need to ask for a cereal spoon and look for a second knife. room a bit dark, i only saw about 2 members of staff, the check in girl failed to crack a smile, to get to the resterant you had to go through the bar, and i felt like i was the only person in the hotel. They had not received confirmation from yourselves so was given room on top floor (this was rectified). Charged twice for room we are fighting to get it back. Long corridors and many stairs not useful for anyone with mobility problems. nothing. The pigeons kept me awake from 5am under the fire walkway on roof. Bell ringers thursday evening. The exposed parking in an ncb car park. The breakfast at £9.95 for a slice of toast. The management was helpful and waved the standard charge when I twitted them, so alls well. function with noisy disco below our room and no one thought to mention it. No lift as my partner has walking difficulties. Nothing. nothing. Lots of stairs. Only problem I found was the double bed in the room i stayed in was too small not suitable for 2 slightly large couples. If I had to have a gripe, the towels did not have a pleasant smell. Not easy to find as you have to drive along a street that looks like a pedestrian area only. Noisey Little Dated Beds not that comfy. Very noisy room right next to a pub courtyard. Breakfast wasn't included so we decided to pay the £9.95. We initially waited 20 mins for an instant coffee and was then told they didn't have any eggs. We decided to go somewhere else. Central location good but extremely noisy throughout the night, revelers etc. Noisy venue down the street. Lack of food protection at breakfast time. Appalling breakfast apparently was the chefs last Day!. Poor ventilation in bathroom. Noise on Friday night below our room. Room 29 - luckily we got moved because tv wasn't working. We had a problem and they refuse to accept they were wrong will not stay again because if there was a fire or you got sick there is no one there to help you.if you leave hotel bring your key with you as they will close the reception with out notice and you will not be able to access your room. my room and corridor and down stairs toilet had quite a few blue bottles. We spent at least 10 minutes of our time trying to get rid of them,. Breakfast was quite expensive for what it was. Oh see above. Single room had no wardrobe, cupboard or shelving to store or hang any clothing which is a very basic amenity. Bedside lamp had no bulb in it and the bathroom bin had not been emptied from the previous occupant. Basic room checks and servicing obviously need attention. There was also nowhere except the floor to store a suitcase. This hotel is charging top prices due to it's location (£50pn for a single) so obviously the above left me feeling a little disappointed. Cleaning staff is useless. In eight days no cleaning of carpets. Some days no cleaning at all. noisy people sitting on hotel chairs under the window until 1am, noisy extractor fan in en suite, plug in sink stuck closed. Room at the back of hotel overlooked rather shabby outbuildings with a lot of pigeon and gull poo at no extra charge. A friend had a room at the front of the hotel with drunken rowdy locals roistering until after 2 A.M. as a free extra. Kettle in room broken. No shelf in shower. the room was very basic and needed a good clean. BED, really uncomfortable Outside noise forcing itself in Bedside lamp situated just so to bang into your belly or side when getting in and out of bed.
