best hotel ever! We stayed in a twin oriental themed room, very tastefully done. In the words of my 11 yr old " Where else would you find a 19th century Tibetan bridal Sedan chair in your bedroom?" Very child friendly, lots of toys and games and the pool has flippers and balls etc for having fun with. Having said that, not a noisy place over run with screaming kids! This is a very quirky, intelligently and interestingly equipped hotel. Books on every imaginable subject adorn the place, you need . alle vurderinger »
We all absolutely loved this hotel. It was warm, welcoming and friendly. We had two twin rooms. Both were spacious and included two armchairs and a coffee table Things that really pleased us were:
fridge with fresh milk and bottled water
fresh coffee with cafetiere
teapot
ironing board and iron
full-sized toiletries in bathroom
plenty of books everywhere in the hotel, plus games and jigsaws
swimming pool
beautiful gardens.
wonderful restaurant meals
wonderful breakfast
I could go on and on.
Bedroom (Room 40) is a great double aspect room.
John, the Manager has a wicked sense of humor, the toilets off the Bar are crazy and you must see them (v v clean).
Very friendly place, lots for Kids.
Fresh milk.and a Fridge in room is a big bonus.
As was attending a wedding elsewhere only had afternoon tea which was very good.
Breakfast was a tale of two half's. (See other panel).
everything, the room couldn't have been a better choice for me, as I was in a Horse Racing themed room, right up my street! The whole hotel I would describe as quirky, attention to detail was outstanding. I didnt get to sample the breakfast as I had been a little unwell so just didnt feel like eating, though did try the lunch buffet, which was lovely!.
A charming atmosphere. The staff take particular care to ensure that guests are satisfied. The very large gardens are a haven of tranquillity. The food is pretty good; breakfast is unlike a chain hotel breakfast in that it is freshly cooked to order. Easy to find and most convenient for the town without being in the least bit noisy.
The initial welcome was excellent !!! The Food was "Top of the
Range" and plentiful !!! The staff were friendly and effecient. (
John Jenkinson is either very lucky or and excellent interviewer ) The
Information Pack was, not only very informative but very humourus Will
Reccomend to friends !!!.
Hotel has stature for the area as it has been there for many years. Extreme helpfulness of the staff. Theme rooms are a delight---we were given The Captain's Cabin, and little did the night manager know on assigning our room when we arrived, that we are sailors and I am the Captain!.
Our room was very spacious, comfortably furnished and had a lovely view. The owner certainly has his own sense of humour and has spent time over the years making the place quite memorable - e.g. with wine lists, humorous books, children's toys - oh and the gents toilets!.
It is an independent hotel that does not take itself serious. If you have a good sense of humour and not easily offended you will love the manager/owner,
Staff are super friendly, our room was spotless and breakfast excellent.
A quirky hotel with interesting owner. You either get the humour of the place or you don't. We loved it and the service and food is pretty good too. We have previously stayed in a family room with kids which was brilliant.
Laid back atmosphere, beautiful garden, food very good, fun atmosphere and quirkiness. Staff lovely.liked the milk and quality water supplied free and that we didn't have to find tips on top of bills.
Garden. Cedar tree. Whale bone. View from bedroom. Bed. Breakfast. Parking. Central location. Owner - but some may find him a bit eccentric! Hey that's not a bad thing is it?.
The hotel was well situated for the town center with just a short walk. It was also a little quirky but in a good way. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
It's quirky ness and although we had no children with us on this visitI would revisit with my grandchild as she would love the child friendliness of the hotel.
Well placed for visits to Stratford and the Cotswolds .. ideal for family group , good friendly staff /service , excellent breakfast - good value.
Excellent all round service. Individual rooms. Nostalgic atmosphere. Books. Cleanliness. Food. Quirky friendly owner and great staff.
Great staff. Interesting ambiance. Good food and drink. Spacious, interesting and individual rooms. Real coffee and milk in rooms!.
Unique rooms, delicious coffee. Kid friendly with lot's of toys and games. Nice premises with a huge lawn and tables to enjoy it.
Very good staff and service. The owners are very attentive and helpful. Great location and setting with lovely gardens.
Helpful, courteous staff, excellent food, lovely swimming pool all to myself!
Comfortable bed with real linen sheets.
The breakfast menu is wonderful, the room was very comfortable, and the stay was value for money on the whole.
The staff were friendly, and the manager was bonkers (which was mostly entertaining). Rooms were comfortable.
A delightful and quirky hotel in the old style. Wonderful gardens to sit in when the weather is fine.
Very homely residence. Breakfast very nice and served quickly.
Whales jaw bone in garden; bizarre!.
Everything. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the rooms spacious and clean and the food excellent.
Fascinating whale bones in garden and the most eccentric and funniest toilets I have come across!.
Everything. The room was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent.

All of our stay was a exellent exspirance.
The rooms are spacious and very clean.
The room
the evening meal
the location.
all of it and in particular the staff.
Our room was above the pool and the weather was very hot so the room was very warm and we found sleeping difficult.we liked the room though so didn't asked to be moved and 2 fans were immediately brought for us, which helped.
Absolutely nothing!.
Reception/Lounge areas and hallways look somewhat tired, a cosmetic upgrade of front of house areas would transform experience. All about first impressions :-),
Breakfast order on Sunday was missed in Kitchen and when delivered late, the sausage was under cooked and bacon was just soft and "flabby", I did not eat much of it even though the scrambled egg was well cooked. (On Saturday bacon was crispy and Sausage nicely cooked and was a very good experience).
Coming Home.
Not much: breakfast toast bread not as good as the rest of the meal. (See how I struggle to find a negative comment!).
Nothing !!!!!!!.
Nothing!.
Nothing.
Nothing. We really did enjoy going so where that was completely different. Embrace the madness and you will have a good time.
Breakfast was a little disappointing one morning.
Old t v that didn't work easily. Poor pressure with shower but not too bad.
Bar was a bit cramped and lacked atmosphere - but I did enjoy the bottled Peroni! No draught beer.
Owner could easily offend if not on track with his sense of humour.
Much handled Teddy Bear key fobs !! - The room was of good quality but rather over furnished.
Dinner just about made it , but lacked that factor that makes you go back the next evening .
The hotel is a general reflect of the owners opinion ......
Nothing.
Nothing.
Too many teddy bears for me, it did seem somewhat bizarre to see grown men each carrying a teddy bear in to breakfast! (attached to a key) Hey ho, each to his own.
But would I stay again? Definately a yes!.
Nothing in particular - we had a memorable stay.
Food - overdone steak and underdone bacon put a crimp on dinner and breakfast.
WiFi - very poor reception and strict restrictions where off-outting for a business traveller.
Window in my room was jammed shut!.
Nothing.
Tv in bedroom was ok for the antiques road show.
Nothing.
Could not faultit.
Nothing.
Ales were bottled, but good choice compensated otherwise nothing.
Owner thinks he is funny, we did not really mind but he could be thought to be rude and intrusive. He is more than a little eccentric so be ready.

The car park was a little awkward with an abrupt entrance. Only a minor issue.
