Situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, Townsend Farmhouse B&B is a Grade II listed 17th-century building, which retains many of its original features. Free on-site parking is available to all guests.
Free Wi-Fi, a private bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities are featured in each room at Townsend Farmhouse, as well as a hairdryer and alarm clock.
A full English breakfast is served in the beamed dining room, which features a crackling fire on cold mornings. American style omelettes and smoked salmon are also available. Guests can also relax in the large garden with seating.
Hiking, cycling and horse riding can be enjoyed within the national park, as well as many villages offering local cream teas. Dunster Castle & Gardens and West Somerset Steam Railway are just a 5-minute drive away.

Wonderful suite of rooms with luxurious bedding & towels, massive clean bathroom with sparkling new fittings, and a delightful overall décor throughout the farmhouse.
Exceptionally friendly and attentive owners, with just the right balance giving a big 5* hotel feel to a smaller, more personal establishment.

Everything! Nick (the owner) made me feel so incredibly welcome, it was just like coming to visit a home you never knew you had. I was offered a cup of tea and surprised by a perfect tray with biscuits and all laid out for me in the sitting room. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and breakfast delicious! An absolutely perfect stay, wish I could have stayed longer...
A touch of luxury and exceptional hospitality set Townsend apart from even the best B & B's. The delightful character farmhouse, set in an excellent location for exploring the surrounding countryside, add to the charm of a stay with Nick and Melinda. Breakfasts are outstanding and guaranteed to please. I recommend staying in Townsend Farmhouse without hesitation.
Lovely B&B, and very good value. Very warm welcome, good range of breakfast choices (everything we tried was excellent), comfortable beds. The suite of three rooms was ideal for our family of 5. Good base for Dunster and the North Somerset coast and hills.
Everything! A beautiful building in a lovely setting. Well signed and easy to find, and an ideal location for exploring the area. Excellent hosts. Magnificent breakfasts. Will stay there again.
I chose Townsend Farmhouse because they used proper butcher fresh meat not super market & as farmers appreciate their trouble to do this kind of shopping.
The hospitality, the good food, the bedroom, the big bathroom, the silence, the smile of Nick and Melinda and, obviously, their wonderful dog Jed.

Nice B&B but please two important facilities required here, one, a TV in the room and secondly, rooms at the back cos the.traffic on the main road is just too much.

Came away with a bad scratch from the friendly dog but he just wanted my attention and the scratch will heal so no problem really.
