Room was large and quite comfortable. Full english breakfast was generous and got you going early. The walk into Canterbury (and restaurants) was short and the walk to the train station was just 10 minutes -- we pulled our bags with no problem. Very cheerful proprietors. Internet worked well. -

You step back into history walking in here - You can feel the atmosphere of an old Hostelry in times gone by - and what a lovely little back terrace to sit and have breakfast or just a coffee. The owners and staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. Great Breakfast and a wonderful place all round. The place is superb. And would still be at double the price: it's amazingly inexpensive.
Character, comfort, calm, good food (offering both "bar" and "restaurant" menus - from the same kitchen - is a smart way of catering for every budget).
The staff are really excellent and thoughtful.
I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else at Canterbury - or at the channel ports if you are en route to/from there, it's only a minute off the fast road. I certainly won't again.

Everyone was extremely friendly and more than happy to help. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the City Centre but in dire weather (as was this weekend) taxi's are happy to pick up/drop off. - Only stayed overnight but impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, especially reception when booking in.

My partner and I were upgraded and had a wonderful stay in a room with a goregous four poster bed, the bathroom had a lovely jacuzzi bath. The hotel staff were clearly busy but extremely friendly, curteous and welcoming. The hotel restaurant served excellent food and was enjoyed by hotel guests and many locals! The hotel grounds were beautiful.
