Our room was cosy and comfortable and the staff were consistently friendly and efficient - always happy to help. An issue with the boiler in the annex where we were originally staying was dealt with without any fuss, and we were given a free upgrade. Also can't fault the food in the restaurant - we enjoyed two sumptuous breakfasts, and the venison I enjoyed on the Saturday night was delicious! Both the Hoste Arms and Burnham Market itself looked beautiful and very atmospheric decked out in Chri.
alle vurderinger » A lovely Hotel set in a quaint North Norfolk village. We had a room upgrade to a luxury suite in the Hoste main buildings at no extra charge due to noise which was fantastic, very sapcious really comfortable bed with gorgeous linens, massive walkin shower as well as a really well equipped separate bathroom. The Hotel has recently added a new restaurant which is superb over looking a lovely courtyard patio & the service throughout the Hotel was excellent. Good food, friendly, helpful & efficient staff. Excellent value - we were surprised by the modesty of the meal bill. Sited in charming busy village. Railway Inn annex very pleasant with decent kettle & supplies and excellent shower. Both main site and annex easy to find. Friendly and excellent service, not pushy in any way. The bed room was very clean with ample towels and also dressing gowns even though we only booked for one night in a standard double room.The food was obviously freshly prepared and excellent. Will definately go again. This inn was absolutely top drawer. The room was up to the standards of a a picky American that travels for business but still had a wonferdul pub feel. In fact the pub just below us. A terrific blend of old and new. No gym is a nightmare. women have spa etc it is so small a thing to add in the spa area and for a proper hotel a decent gym is important even if your clientele is older. Superb service in the restaurant. Beautiful room in the Railway Cottages, lots of atmosphere and very comfortable. Eating breakfast in the open air on a sunny day. 6 of us rented one of the Hostes luxury cottages and couldn't fault it . We didn't visit the pub at all so couldn't comment on food and drink there . Staff were great,friendly,efficient and very positive about their place of work. Breakfasts and our evening meal were first class. The staff were really friendly It was comforting and luxurious Food was incredible Railway house was amazing Village is lovely. A fantastic place to stay, relax and dine. Food seemed very reasonable, though. Location of the Station house was too far from the main Hotel a good 10 minutes walk & no fun in the rain!! Also rooms in this building were noisy you could here every single word spoken from the room next door, I expected better for a £170 per night!!. Could only open 1 widow sash as the others were painted shut hence only 'good' for comfort. A slight inconvenience sleeping at the Railway Inn annex, but I suppose the walk was good for us. Room great but not sure about the African decor. nothing!. Rather OTT decor for a country hotel. Desk girls made muddle of the bill. They weren't going to charge us for dinner, but were honest!. Nothing, really. Noise at the back of the Hotel in the early hours of the morning. London prices for an annexe you (have to) drive to. Tepid coffee for breakfast; no plug for hairdryer near a mirror; writing too small on shampoo/conditioner etc (can't use specs in shower). Nothing. Dogs sat on furniture in the bar, although I love dogs I would not have been happy to sit on furniture and get dog hairs on my clothes. Child playing in bar with dogs and laying on floor and under furniture. We were rushed through our dinner and breakfast by staff taking plates before last mouthful swallowed, much too prompt. Gentleman on mobile phone whilst eating breakfast. We had to wait a the bar for a while before getting served. We were not aware you could bring your dog, not keen on sleeping in a room where there has been dogs. The booking was a bit muddled but we were given more than we paid for. Thought prices of wine per bottle rather high so did nopt buy. Single menu with limited choice for non meat eaters over a stay of a few days. rather to hot. The 10 minutes walk to the main hotel facilities. The long wait for starters at dinner!. Dog friendly format doesn't suit dog unfriendly. Who want a a yapping pet in communal areas in the railway. Our evening meal on the 30th June was very average which was disappointing. N/a. Allegedly due to booking via your web site we did not get the room we had paid for. We had to haggle to get some money back. The room we had was over a noisy dining room. They cannot cope in the kitchen with the number of meals they need to serve. Reminiscent of fawlty towers. Could not control heating in ensuite. Cost. Is it necessary to charge for a newspaper?. Room Booked as a superior but in our opinion only standard (32) Situated in the spa annex and not in the main hotel as stated on our confirmation, also very noisy from door slamming by staff using store room below. Breakfast was poorly cooked on first day and items missing on second day. spa, no excuse for not letting me know whether i could have a booking for a massage, or not. only very average quality of food enthusiastic but poorly trained restaurant staff. Room was a long way from facilities. nothing. Hard Bed Very slow service at breakfast. We like relaxed, but there didn't seem to be any motivation or structure, so some staff training would be advisable. Food not as nice as we expected. Breakfast the 2nd day was awful :( Loved the area, but probably wouldn't stay at The Hoste again. Poor service (staff couldn't find a pen at reception). Booked for dinner upon arriving told we hadn't booked like it was our fault. Food was ok- just, but poorly presented. Sat there for ages whilst staff tried to find steak knifes (whilst our food was going cold). Our first visit since The Hoste changed hands. The changes they have made are rather cold and clinical. The previous owners and staff ran the hotel with a passion, the new owners seem to run it just for profit. ....service was shambolic.....staff did not have a clue....evening dining experience was a disaster....breakfast was the same dreadful experience. The Hoste Arms trades on its service and is a very popular destination...but the whole experience was poor....over rated and not worth the money. Very poor service at dinner and food either overcooked or undercooked. Very small room quite cramped. we stayed in the outhouse / annex. It;s so far away you feel more like a B&B not an 'otel. We had a ground floor room and the window was severely overlooked by the car park. There was no privacy at all and the only option was to draw the curtains which with very poor lighting inside was a pain. The room was small for the money charged and the shower room tiny. I would not stay here again. The quality of bedroom accommodation in the Railway was well below standard. We had to move room. Bedroom window overlooking arrival car parking. Very poor service in restaurant.
